Review| Taking His Shot – Kendall Ryan
The Hot Jocks series has been a lot of fun to read this past year (Playing for Keeps, All the Way, Trying to Score, Crossing the Line and Wild for You have already been reviewed). This team of amazing hockey players has given us some amazing romances. Kendall Ryan has given us some amazing book boyfriends and the last book is now out in the world. Taking His Shot released June 8th and I want to talk about that book today!
A big thanks to the author for providing me with an ARC to read and review.
Show Sunday | Love, Victor
On June 17th the first season of Love, Victor released on Hulu. This show is a spin-off off the movie Love, Simon which is based on the book Simon VS the Homo Sapiens Agenda. Do you still follow along? Haha. Even though I was supposed to be studying for my exams I figured it would be okay to just watch the first episode and to if it was any good. We all can imagine how that went…. Continue reading “Show Sunday | Love, Victor”
Mini Reviews | All For the Game series – Nora Sakavic
The Foxhole Court has been on my wishlist for at least two years now and I recently discovered the hole series was available on Scribd. This definitely bumped it up on my TBR. And for some reason I decided to start listening to The Foxhole Court at the start of June. Before I knew it I finished the whole trilogy haha. So today I want to share my thoughts on these three books. Let’s jump in! Continue reading “Mini Reviews | All For the Game series – Nora Sakavic”
Review| Out of Play – Kayla Tirrell
If you’ve been on this blog before, you know I’m a big fan of Kayla Tirrell’s books. In fact, one of her books was one of the first reviews to be found on The Book Dutchesses. Since then she’s written quite a few books. Love in the Arena is her newest series and I loved Penalty Box. Today is the the release day for the sequel, Out of Play. Keep on reading for my review!
A big thanks to the author for providing me with an ARC to read and review!
Bookish Item| Completed Series on My Shelf I Still Need to Start
Two weeks ago I wrote a post about a few series that I’ve started, but haven’t finished yet. You can find that post here. That’s not the whole list, but it’s a start. Today I decided to talk about completed series that I have on my shelf, but still need to start. Yes, I’m the reader that buys a whole series before reading the first book, haha. Let’s take a look at a few of the series I really need to read soon!

Review| The Oddmire Book One: Changeling – William Ritter
We’ve said it before, but middle grade books really are starting to become a bigger part of our TBR. I’ve really been enjoying them lately, so when I was approached for the blog tour for the second book in The Oddmire series, I couldn’t say know. Even though these books can be read separately, it’s still fun to read them all. Today I want to talk about the first book, Changeling!
A big thanks to Algonquin Young Readers for providing me with an ARC on Netgalley!

Bookish Item | #MGtakesonthursday : Small Spaces – Katherine Arden
Normally we do tags on Thursdays, but lately both of us have been having a harder time finding tags we want to do or think are fun. That’s when I stumbled upon this new bookish meme: #MGTakesOnThursday created by BookCraic. Middle grade books have become a bigger part of our TBR, so this looked like a lot of fun. Let’s take a look at what this is all about!
How to participate:
- Post a picture of the front cover of a middle-grade book which you have read and would recommend to others with details of the author, illustrator and publisher.
- Open the book to page 11 and share your favorite sentence.
- Write three words to describe the book.
- Either share why you would recommend this book, or link to your review.
So this is pretty straightforward! Today I’m going to showcase .. Continue reading “Bookish Item | #MGtakesonthursday : Small Spaces – Katherine Arden”
Can’t Wait Wednesday | You Had Me at Hola – Alexis Daria
We wanted to do another bookish meme on Wednesday and after doing Can’t Wait Wednesday a few times we decided that would be a fun one to bring around more often! About twice a month you’ll see this meme on our blog.
Can’t-Wait Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Wishful Endings, to spotlight and discuss the books we’re excited about that we have yet to read. Generally they’re books that have yet to be released. It’s based on Waiting on Wednesday, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine. Continue reading “Can’t Wait Wednesday | You Had Me at Hola – Alexis Daria”
TTT #137| Books on My 2020 Summer TBR
We have been having fun with Top Ten Tuesday, so we decided we will do one every week. This bookish meme was hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, and has been going since June 2010! Since January 2018 Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.
This week’s topic is Books on My Summer TBR. I’ve made quite a few of these and I honestly can’t even remember if I’ve read the TBR I made for myself throughout the different seasons. I’ll have to check on that soon. There are some books I really want to read this summer, so let’s take a look!
