We thought it was time for a fun new post every week. In the Royal Update one of us updates you about our personal life, bookish news, what we’re reading, watching and listening to and anything else that might apply to this post. We thought it would be fun to share a bit more about our personal lives and hope you think so too!
I feel like my life updates have been a bit boring but nevertheless here is another one ;). These next two weeks I have exams and some deadlines so I have been working on my studies a lot. I’m a big procrastinator so instead of working on my assignments I have been working out a lot. And I am SORE, haha. I have a bunch of workouts from Instagram but I also started the slim thigh challenge from Chloe Ting. She has a bunch of programs, most are a month long and I’m excited to see if I can keep up.
More and more venues have been opening up since the COVID-19 lockdown and I went out to dinner with one of my best friends last week. I was so invested in this delicious dinner that I didn’t even take one picture, haha. We had some of the best cocktails I ever drank and it was just a wonderful night. I did take this (very charming) picture of myself on public transport with my mask on haha.
I wasn’t planning on getting any more eARC’s… At the moment I still have a ton of exciting ones to read so I want to prioritize those. However, I got an email that A Deadly Education by Naomi Novik was up for request. This book was high on my anticipated releases list and I decided to just request it. I wasn’t expecting to be approved but within half a day I was able to download my copy <3. Hopefully it’s as good as I hope it’ll be!
The last two weeks have been pretty good reading weeks for me! I’ve almost exclusively been listening to audiobooks and I don’t even mind. It’s so nice to enjoy consuming stories again. I’ve bingelistened the All For The Game series, and did a series review for it. Candyce and I both listened to The Black Flamingo and reviewed that one as well. I’ll admit I’m pretty proud of myself for all those reviews, haha. Lastly I’ve listened to both You Should See Me In A Crown and Foolish Hearts and they were both very cute and fun. At the moment I’m (finally) reading my ebook of Get A Life, Chloe Brown and the audiobook for An Unkindness of Magicians. Enjoying both and can’t wait to share my thoughts!
There have been a few excited new books announced:
And Epic Reads came out with a couple of Epic Reads Edition books and they are GORGEOUS!
Finally I can do another Shop log! It’s been quite a while since my last one I think but today I have two new things for you all. I’ll admit I didn’t take the best pictures but okay, haha. Months ago I ordered a Harry Potter with invisibility cloak Funko and it finally arrived. I love this one a lot, it looks so cute <3. And after Candyce bought her waterproof speaker I had to have one as well, haha. So I got this very cute pink one with pineapples on it and I’m very happy with it. The only downside is that you can’t adjust the volume on it, you have to do that on the device you’re using and I obviously can’t do that while I’m showering, haha.
We have been graced with some amazing releases the past few weeks and I couldn’t help myself and have been BINGEING! Love, Victor, the final episodes of Alexa&Katie and the second season of the Politician. Each one I watched in 1 or 2 days, haha. And I loved them all. I’m also trying to keep up-to-date with The 100, Blindspot, and Roswell, New Mexico. The 100 and Blindspot are in their final season and Roswell just aired their second season finale so I need to catch up!
I have been listening to a lot of music lately but one of the things I come to back the most is the most recent Panic! At The Disco album, Pray for the Wicked. It’s an amazing album and I can listen to it over and over and still discover new favorite parts.
So that’s been my past two weeks! How have you been? Have you seen, read or listened to anything good? Let me know in the comments! I’d love to hear from you.
