As a teacher of kids ages 9 to 12 I’m always interested in good MG books. I do teach here in the Netherlands, so the kids in my class speak Dutch and they mostly read in Dutch as well. Of course I’m trying to get them to love reading as much as I do. Today I wanted to share some of the books they are currently loving. Let’s take a look!

Review| Knives, Seasoning, & A Dash of Love – Katrina Kwan
Knives, Seasoning, & A Dash of Love is a workplace romance that caught my eye. I don’t think I’ve read many books like this. Today I want to tell you about this book and what I thought. Keep on reading to find out more.
A big thank you to Netgalley and Lake Country Press for providing me with an eARC to read and review.

WWW Wednesday #89
It’s Wednesday, so time for a new WWW Wednesday to talk about my reading progress and plans. I really love these posts and talking more about what I’m reading before the monthly wrap up. Even if my reading plans change I like thinking about what I’m going to read!
So it’s time for my next WWW Wednesday. This is a weekly meme hosted by Taking On a World of Words and you participate by simply answering three questions:
- What did you recently finish reading?
- What are you currently reading?
- What do you think you’ll read next?
TTT #392 | Books on My Summer 2025 to-Read List
We have been having fun with Top Ten Tuesday, so we decided we will do one every week. This bookish meme was hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, and has been going since June 2010! Since January 2018 Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.
This week’s topic is Books on My Summer 2025 to-Read List. As you might already know, I don’t really make TBR’s for myself. However I do always have a ton of books I would love to read in the coming months, so I’ll make a list out of those. Let’s jump in! Continue reading “TTT #392 | Books on My Summer 2025 to-Read List”
Royal Update #278
We thought it was time for a fun new post every week. In the Royal Update one of us updates you about our personal life, bookish news, what we’re reading, watching and listening to and anything else that might apply to this post. We thought it would be fun to share a bit more about our personal lives and hope you think so too! Continue reading “Royal Update #278”
Down the TBR Hole #150
It’s finally time for the 150th Down the TBR Hole post! I’m starting at the same amount of books as last time. Even though I could’ve sworn I read one or two of these. Maybe it was a different edition. I still haven’t added anything though and that’s all that matters!
Down the TBR Hole was originally created over at Lost in a Story. This meme is now being hosted by Jody from I’m Into Books. It looked like a fun and productive way to finally make a dent in that Goodreads TBR. I went through my want-to-read shelf a little while ago but I think I was still to kind on a lot of books. Let’s see what I’ll make of it this time around. I decided to go with 10 books at a time so lets get started!
Review | Once a Villain – Vanessa Len
Only a Monster was one of my favorite reads of 2022 and such a pleasant surprise. The sequel, Never a Hero was a favorite in 2023 and this August we finally get the final book in the Monsters series; Once a Villain. I was lucky enough to get an eARC and I obviously read it as soon as I could. Today I wanted to share my thoughts with you all, so let’s jump in!
Since this is book 3 in a series, there will be some minor spoilers for book 1 & 2.

Bookish Item| My Kindle Unlimited TBR
I’ve had Kindle Unlimited for a while now and I’ve been loving the books I’m reading. There are some that have been catching my eye lately, so I have a little list of books to get to soon. So let’s take a look at my Kindle Unlimited TBR.
Bookish Item | Goodreads’ 144 Most Read Books of the 2025 Reading Challenge
Goodreads just posted an article about the 144 most read books for the 2025 reading challenge divided over 12 genres. So 12 books per genre! And I of course had to take a look at that list, I love lists. I also thought it would be fun to share how many books I have read, if I have books on my TBR and if there are any books I would like to read on the list. Let’s jump in!

Can’t Wait Wednesday | Automatic Noodle – Annalee Newitz
We wanted to do another bookish meme on Wednesday and after doing Can’t Wait Wednesday a few times we decided that would be a fun one to bring around more often! About twice a month you’ll see this meme on our blog.
Can’t Wait Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Wishful Endings, to spotlight and discuss the books we’re excited about that we have yet to read. Generally they’re books that have yet to be released. It’s based on Waiting on Wednesday, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine. Continue reading “Can’t Wait Wednesday | Automatic Noodle – Annalee Newitz”
