We have been having fun with Top Ten Tuesday, so we decided we will do one every week. This bookish meme was hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, and has been going since June 2010! Since January 2018 Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.
This week’s topic is Books on My Summer TBR. I’ve made quite a few of these and I honestly can’t even remember if I’ve read the TBR I made for myself throughout the different seasons. I’ll have to check on that soon. There are some books I really want to read this summer, so let’s take a look!
The Hate U Give – Angie Thomas I’ve wanted to read this book since I bought it in London way too long ago! I constantly hear people saying how amazing The Hate U Give is. Also, with everything going on in the world right now, books like this one are even more important. The Hate U Give is also now a movie and I’m curious about it.
The Beautiful – Renee Ahdieh If you knew how many books I end up starting, only to put them aside for something else. I’m definitely an “oh shiny” person at times. I will be reading The Beautiful next month with a book club and I’m so excited. Part of me really needs to pick this up right now, because I have the ARC for the sequel. I love reading in readalongs though!
The Bone Thief – Breeana Shields After being really impressed by The Bone Charmer, I had to pick up the sequel as soon as it was released! In my opinion this duology needs more hype than it’s currently getting. It’s so good!
Wayward Son – Rainbow Rowell Another case of how have I not picked this up sooner?!? Fangirl is still one of my favorite books. So my actual plan is to do a reread of Fangirl and Carry On and then continue with Wayward Son.
The Iron King – Julie Kagawa This is a series that has been around for awhile and I’ve heard a lot of people talk about. If I’m honest, it seemed interesting, but I just never got around to picking it up. A couple of friends of mine want to read this soon, so I’ll definitely join a buddyread with them. The Iron King got a new cover as well and it’s stunning!
Radio Silence – Alice Oseman I’ve had this book on my shelf for a few months now and it’s another book I’ve heard amazing things about. After reading Heartstopper by this author, I’ve decided to continue along with all of this author’s books.
Spellslinger – Sebastien de Castell I received the first book of this series for Christmas almost two years ago. Last year at Castlefest, I bought the second, third and fourth book with sprayed edges to match the first book. I recently bought the final book in this series, so I think it’s time to start. I know a few people who love this series, so I’d say it’s time!
King of Scars – Leigh Bardugo Right before this book came out, I read all three of the Grishaverse books back to back. I decided to do this, so that I could pick up King of Scars when it was delivered to me on release day. That didn’t happen! Isabelle loved it and actually chose King of Scars as one of the books I have to read for a new item on the blog we’ve talked about.
The Queen of Nothing – Holly Black The Cruel Prince is a book I was so afraid to read, because there was just so much hype. People were so excited about this book and I was reading everywhere how great it was. I knew if I picked it up, I would just be annoyed. I ended up reading the first two books in this trilogy and really enjoyed myself. Now it’s time for me to finish the third and final book!
These Broken Stars – Amie Kaufman & Meagan Spooner Okay, I’ve had this trilogy on my shelf since the end of 2016! I don’t think I have to say that it’s time to finally read These Broken Stars. The covers are stunning and a few bookish buddies loved this story. It’s time for me to experience that myself.
So these are ten books that I really need and hope to read this summer! If you’ve read any of these, I’d love to hear your thoughts. What’s on your summer TBR? Feel free to leave the link to your TTT in the comments!

To add to the masses: THUG is amazing. Also, I LOVED Radio Silence.
I’m excited about both of these!
I haven’t heard of The Bone Thief, but that cover is gorgeous! I definitely recommend picking up The Hate U Give – it was such a powerful read.

I also want to read The Hate U Give! I actually just got it! I really am so interested in the Spellsinger series but one of my blogger friends told me to skip it, as we have similar reading styles. I am going to start the Greatcoats series by the same author though. I really can’t wait to see what you think of this book!!
I’ll keep you posted!
Queen of Nothing is phenomenal, I loved the way it ended the series
I’m happy to hear you loved the way it ended!
