TTT #136 | Books I’ve Added to my TBR and Forgotten Why

We have been having fun with Top Ten Tuesday, so we decided we will do one every week. This bookish meme was hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, and has been going since June 2010! Since January 2018 Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.

This week’s topic is Books I’ve Added to my TBR and Forgotten Why. This is a fun prompt! Candyce is still doing the Down the TBR Hole posts and I did them for a while as well, loads of books I came across for that post would’ve fit in this category. Let’s see if I can find 10 books I added to my TBR but I’ve totally forgotten why I did so!

1.Meet Cute – Jennifer L. Armentrout

I’m pretty sure I only added this because most of my bookish friends love Jennifer L. Armentrout so much haha. Short stories like this weren’t really my thing when I added this and neither was that genre haha.

2.Dreaming Darkly – Caitlin Kittredge

This sounds very creepy and I hardly ever read horror because I scare so easy. Apart from the genre, I also think it sounds like there is quite some focus on the romance and that’s something I hardly ever enjoy is books that are contemporary.

3.Castle of Lies – Kiersi Burkhart

I guess there weren’t any reviews up when I added this because there’s no way I would’ve added this if there were. The reviews are pretty negative and the synopsis doesn’t sound that great to be honest.

4.Legend of Me – Rebekah L. Purdy

This book sounds very heavy on the romance and when am I ever into that? Also the story sounds like a bunch of things we’ve seen before and I’m very much done with that. Give me something original!

5.Road to Eugenica – A.M. Rose

What was I thinking? Another one with a heavy focus on romance and even worse, I’m pretty sure there’s a love triangle. No thanks, I don’t need a book like this in my life.

6.Amber & Dusk – Lyra Selene

It’s a bit harsh but this one doesn’t bring anything special, and more like a bunch of other stories we’ve seen before. There’s is nothing exciting in the synopsis and I’m to sure why I wanted to read this one.

7.Someday, Somewhere – Lindsay Champion

This one is pretty weird to be on my TBR. It’s a contemporary that doesn’t sound like I would ever be interested in it and I can’t believe I added this at some point.

8.Spies, Lies, and Allies – Lisa Brown Roberts

I think I might’ve added this based on the title. The synopsis doesn’t spring any recognition and I think I imagined the Spies-part from the title a bit differently. This is a contemporary with a romance I’m not interested in.

9. Rogue Legacy: The Secret History of Issalia – Jeffrey L. Kohanek

This is a prequel novel to a series I haven’t read so I have no business adding this to my TBR at all haha. I might be interested in the series but I’ll have to try that before adding this prequel novel 😉

10.Soulstruck – Natasha Sinel

Honestly, this sounds ridiculous and I’m not sure why I ever thought I would like this. A girl trying to get hit by lighting to find her soulmate and that in a contemporary story. That’s a big no from me.

And these were 10 of the books I added to my TBR at some point but I’ve forgotten why. Would you recommend any of these? Or should I get rid of them. Tell me in the comments!

  1. Lol about Soul Struck. That does sound pretty iffy although I do like the cover. Must be the lightning. 🙂 And I kinda like the cover of Meet Cute as well, although short story collections- yeah those can be iffy.
