We have been having fun with Top Ten Tuesday, so we decided we will do one every week. This bookish meme was hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, and has been going since June 2010! Since January 2018 Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.
This week’s topic is Books that Give Off Summer Vibes. When I think reading in the summer, my brain jumps to contemporary books. So I’ll talk about ten contemporary books I hope to read this summer!
Beach Read- Emily Henry Okay, the title already gives off summer vibes, so now is the perfect time to read Beach Read. Add the fact that Beach Read is about two authors and I’m sold. I think this is going to be a really interesting read.
Conventionally Yours – Annabeth Albert I only need to know a book will take place at a con and I’m already sold. Especially when there are two fans so passionate that they are willing to go head to head in a tournament. I can’t wait to get my hands on this.
Boyfriend Material – Alexis Hall I have to say I’m really enjoying these illustrated covers! One of my favorite tropes is fake dating/relationships and Boyfriend Material sounds like it’s right up my alley.
Bookish and the Beast – Ashley Poston I loved Geekerella and what I’ve read of The Princess and the Fangirl! Bookish and the Beast is the third book in this series of companion novels. The title and cover had me sold, but the book sounds like a lot of fun as well!
Meet Cute Club – Jack Harbon This book was recently released and hasn’t had much hype, but sounds really good. A book that takes place partially at a bookstore and in a book club? Yes, please!!
The Mall – Megan McCafferty I’ve mentioned The Mall before, but spending time in the mall in the States has me excited for this one. A lot of teenagers spend a lot of time at the mall during the summer, so there’s no better time to read this one. I’m really thankful to have an arc.
Real Men Knit – Kwana Jackson Just the title of this book had me wanting to read it. After reading the synopsis and knowing that a group of brothers want to save the store their mother built and run, I picked this one up. I have a feeling this is going to turn out to be a heartwarming story.
You Say it First – Katie Cotugno You Say it First is another book I’ve mentioned a few times in different lists on the blog the last few months. I’ll finally be able to get my hands on it this month and it screams summer to me.
Four Days of You and Me – Miranda Kenneally I was worried about this one at first. If a book only concentrates on four days of a relationship, that could lack development. A friend has read Four Days of Me and You already and said that the author works with flashbacks and that it’s really good!
Take a Hint, Dani Brown – Talia Hibbert Another book I’ve mentioned a few times before, but it’s one I really want to read. Take a Hint, Dani Brown is the sequel to Get a Life, Chloe Brown. We got a little glimpse of Chloe’s sisters and they seem like a lot of fun!
So those are the ten contemporary books that give off summer vibes for me. How about you? Feel free to leave your TTT link down below. What will be your first summer read?
