Another month of 2020 is over! Which means it’s time to show you what books were added to our shelves! Were we good? Or did a lot of books find their way to our homes? Keep on reading our May bookhaul to find out!
Candyce
I’ve come to the conclusion that this year isn’t going as planned, haha. There have been a lot more books added to my collection than I originally planned. So many books sound so good and are so tempting. I already posted a little haul last weekend after visiting the bookstore for the first time in months. You can find that here. On top of that, I added 10 other books to my shelves!
Crown of Feathers – Nicki Pau Preto
Crown of Feathers was the group read of the month in a book club I follow. I ended up grabbing the physical book. Not only is the cover stunning, but I was really enjoying the story. Before the month was over, I ended up getting distracted, so I need to finish Crown of Feathers soon.
Talk Nerdy to Me – Tiffany Schmidt
I actually almost missed the release of Talk Nerdy to Me. This is the third book in the Bookish Boyfriends series. I’ve only read the second one so far, but it was so much fun! The author takes elements from other books and adds them to the characters’ lives in one way or another.
Ghost Squad – Claribel A. Ortega
Ghost Squad was one of the group reads in TBR & Beyond in May. I’ve already read this and it’s a really cute story. On top of that, the cover is stunning (also under the dust jacket)!
House of Dragons – Jessica Cluess
I’ve had this author on my radar, but haven’t picked up anything by her. When I heard of House of Dragons, it sounded like something I would love. When this comes online, I’ll be reading this one. It’s going to be a buddy read and I’m really excited.
Hunting November – Adriana Mather
Killing November was a book that took me by surprise and I’ve been really looking forward to the sequel. After a little delay it finally arrived, so I can hopefully read it in June or July!
Aurora Burning – Amie Kaufman & Jay Kristoff
After reading Aurora Rising, I was so happy that I didn’t have to wait long before getting my hands on Aurora Burning. What a ride! All I can say is that this book hurts and waiting for the next one is going to be torture, haha!
The Bone Charmer & The Bone Thief – Breeana Shields
I’ve seen The Bone Charmer around, but it’s not a book that I’ve heard many people talk about. The concept sounded interesting and after reading it I’m honestly surprised it doesn’t get more hype. It was so good! The Bone Thief is the sequel that released last week and I’ll be reading it soon.
Date Me, Bryson Keller – Kevin van Whye
I got to read an ARC of this and I loved this book so much! Date Me, Bryson Keller is everything I love in a contemporary book. On top of that, look at this cute cover. I highly recommend this book!
Crownbreaker – Sebastien de Castell
Crownbreaker is the sixth and final book in the Spellslinger series. Okay, I haven’t started reading them yet, but this one has the sprayed edges like the other five do. I know editions like this can become hard to come by after awhile, so I wanted to make sure my collection was complete.
Isabelle
Another pretty good month for me! I only bought one book and it was a graphic novel. Because I read graphic novels pretty quickly, I don’t mind adding one to my TBR. And this is a MG one so I bought it for MG May as well <3
The Okay Witch – Emma Steinkellner
The Okay Witch had been on my wishlist for a while! I loved the look of it and it sounds so cute. This is exactly the kind of book I needed to destress a bit and I’m happy I bought it. I needed a book for school and was just a bit below the amount to qualify for free shipping. So of course I needed to add another book haha. Very happy to have added this to my collection!
This was our bookhaul for the month! See any books you’re interested in or have read? Tell us in the comments!
Wow, some of the covers are BEAUTIFUL!! Great post!
I just bought Crown of Feathers! I’m glad you hear you were enjoying the story! I really hope I like it. Ooooh Ghost Squad has a gorgeous cover! These all sound so amazing!
