We weren’t even planning on going to YALFest this year. When the authors were announced, we didn’t know any of them and most of the books weren’t going to be published until a month before YALFest 2018. In the end, after reading one of the author’s books, we just had to go!
We have been having fun with Top Ten Tuesday, so we decided we will do one every week. This bookish meme was hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, and has been going since June 2010! Since last January Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.
This week’s topic is an interesting one. Best Character Names. The ten I chose made the list, because I like the sound of them or I think that they fit the character.
Flip Trick by Amo Jones sounds like it’s going to be a really good book. Amo Jones is an author that is new to me, but I have heard many great things about her other books. Today I get to show you all the cover and you can read the sypnosis as well.
One Baby Daddy is the second book I’ve read by Meghan Quinn. Last year I read Dear Life and was really impressed. That book had me in tears and left me wanting more. She has released more books since then, but I haven’t had the chance to read them. My next book by her was One Baby Daddy. It’s a romance with sports, my favorite kind. The start of this review actually has a funny story. When I saw the signup for The Brightsiders, I didn’t realize Jen Wilde is also the author of Queens of Geek. I loved that book, so I was actually really excited to start The Brightsiders. If it lived up to my expectations, which were pretty high after reading Queens of Geek, is something you can read in this review!
We were looking for something to post on Sundays when we don’t have anything planned. Then I saw a post on Early Bookish Bird‘s blog and it seemed like the perfect fit. Last year Owlcrate had a shop wide discount for a couple of their previous boxes and I obviously couldn’t contain myself haha. One of the boxes had a sea theme and since I already knew what was in the box I had to get it. The book that was included was Daughter of the Pirate King and for the longest time I planned on reading it…. I love reading series over stand alones but I do tend to start more series than I finish! Today I wanted to share some of the series I still need to finish with you all. Last year when I read The Wright Secret, I really hoped Sutton would get a happily ever after. She was grieving the loss of her husband and it was hard seeing her family so happy. K.A. Linde gave us what we asked for though. Sutton is getting two books! The first one The Wright Love was released yesterday. I read it an loved it. Today I’m participating in the blog tour.
