Blog Tour| One Baby Daddy – Meghan Quinn

One Baby Daddy is the second book I’ve read by Meghan Quinn. Last year I read Dear Life and was really impressed. That book had me in tears and left me wanting more. She has released more books since then, but I haven’t had the chance to read them. My next book by her was One Baby Daddy. It’s a romance with sports, my favorite kind. If you want to know what I thought of this book, keep on reading!

“What are you doing now that your team is out of the running for the Stanley Cup?”

Forget.

I need to forget. I need an escape.

Only one person isn’t falling for my reputation as the NHL’s Golden Boy; she captured my attention the minute she called me out for snooping through my best friend’s house. She didn’t want to hear my reason–she only wanted to playfully give me a hard time.

Adalyn is bold, sassy–and the perfect escape.

She’s everywhere. In town and in my dreams, and suddenly I need to spend every waking moment with her.

And I do, making this summer the best off-season I’ve ever had.

But in the midst of getting lost in Adalyn, what I don’t expect is to get her pregnant.

And what I definitely don’t expect is having to fight for her affection.

Review

Cover I have to say that this isn’t a bad thing to look at, haha. We don’t see a face which makes it even better. Yes, I know I say this in about every review! I can’t help it.

Plot This book was a lot different than Dear Life in many ways. I love that this author can right something like that and something like One Baby Daddy. There is a great balance of humor, romance and loving moments. Adalyn and Hayden are great characters. They’re both not looking for games, but the connection they feel is something they didn’t expect. Hayden is a famous athlete, but so down to earth. It was refreshing. Adalyn is anything but star struck when she meets him. She likes him for him, not for what he does. There relationship had some ups and downs, but they fought through it. Another thing I loved about this book, is that there was kind of a slow burn. While they were very attracted to each other, they didn’t just jump in to bed. They actually got to know each other. For a frequent romance reader, I thought this was very refreshing. One Baby Daddy is a stand-alone, but from what I have seen in other reviews, it is part of books that are linked together. Characters from previous books make appearances. So I know what I will be reading in the near future. Meghan Quinn wrote another amazing book. She will definitely be an auto-buy author for me from now on.

Characters Adalyn is an independent woman who is still finding her way in her nursing career. It’s a lot harder now the emotions than expected. She has never really had a relationship. Growing up with seven brothers makes that very difficult. Meeting Holden changed that though. Adalyn is afraid to get hurt,  it is letting herself take a risk. Things happen she isn’t expecting, but in the end she finds a way to make it work. She is a fun, sweet character and I just wanted to see her happy.

Hayden worked hard to be a rookie in professional hockey. He is so down to earth though. It’s clear that his parents made sure he knew he was very lucky and takes nothing for granted. Hayden is very romantic and he reached the top of my bookboyfriend list, haha. He works hard, but knows when he needs personal space. Hayden fights for what he loves, even when things go a different way than expected.

Hayden’s brothers were hilarious and I loved the moments with his parents. They are really sweet.

James is a character that didn’t sit well with me. But that happens often with his types in books. I could’ve done without, haha.

Born in New York and raised in Southern California, Meghan has grown into a sassy, peanut butter eating, blonde haired swearing, animal hoarding lady. She is known to bust out and dance if “It’s Raining Men” starts beating through the air and heaven forbid you get a margarita in her, protect your legs because they may be humped.

Once she started commuting for an hour and twenty minutes every day to work for three years, she began to have conversations play in her head, real life, deep male voices and dainty lady coos kind of conversations. Perturbed and confused, she decided to either see a therapist about the hot and steamy voices running through her head or start writing them down. She decided to go with the cheaper option and started writing… enter her first novel, Caught Looking.

Now you can find the spicy, most definitely on the border of lunacy, kind of crazy lady residing in Colorado with the love of her life and her five, furry four legged children, hiking a trail or hiding behind shelves at grocery stores, wondering what kind of lube the nervous stranger will bring home to his wife. Oh and she loves a good boob squeeze!
