We were looking for something to post on Sundays when we don’t have anything planned. Then I saw a post on Early Bookish Bird‘s blog and it seemed like the perfect fit. She started #howimetmybook so we’re alternating between #howimetmybook and Down the TBR hole on Sundays from now on! Today I will be posting about how I met The Naturals by Jennifer Lynn Barnes.

In this post we tell the story behind our books. The following questions will be answered: Where did we get the book? Why did we pick it up? What made us pick it up in the first place?

As you know, if you’ve been following us for awhile now, we both love watching TV shows. It’s been a chore finding a balance in reading, blogging and TV shows, haha. It’s always nice when you can combine two of these things. At the beginning of 2017, Isabelle talked about this series in our group of friends. The Naturals is described as a YA version of Criminal Minds. I was sold by just hearing that.

I didn’t buy these books right away though. My birthday was coming and I decided to put them on my wishlist. On my birthday, I got all four books from my boyfriend. Since then I have read the first three, only the last one to go. I love these books and don’t want it to be over. We read about four teenagers who participate in a special FBI program for talented kids. All of them have their own ‘gifts’ that help them along when solving cases. They’re only supposed to work on old cases, but of course, they end up working on actual cases. Some even get too close for comfort.

These books are amazing, because through the cases, we get to know the main characters. So far, I haven’t been able to guess who is behind the crime. Everytime I think I know where it’s going, something happens that makes my theory impossible. If you’re a fan of Criminal Minds or mysteries, these books are definitely for you!
