Bookish Item | Netgalley Backlist Part 4

When I was looking through previous posts to find some inspiration for my next bookish item, I stumbled upon my Netgalley Backlist Part 3. I wrote that at the end of October when my feedback ratio was 62%. It’s been four months and my ratio decreased (oops!), haha. I’m now at 56% and really need to increase this.

Out of the 141 books I’ve been approved for, I’ve written reviews for 80 of these books. That means I still have 61 books to go! Today I’ll talk about six more books on my backlist to motivate myself to get to read them. Let’s take a look at my Netgalley Backlist Part 4!

Bookish Item | Top 30 YA Books of the Decade: Did I Read Them?

Last week Candyce looked at the top 100 romance books to see how many she read. And I thought that was a great idea! Of course I don’t read that much romance so I decided to look at a different list. And in December, Buzzfeed posted a list of the 30 best YA books of the decade. It’s been about a decade that I’m reading YA books so I thought it would be the perfect list for me to take a look at. How many of these top YA books did I read? Let’s get in to it! Continue reading “Bookish Item | Top 30 YA Books of the Decade: Did I Read Them?” →

Bookish Item| #FaeFriday

I always like trying new things every once in awhile for bookish items. Today I decided to participate during #FaeFriday. This weekly tag was created by Kristy from Caffeinated Fae. Definitely check out her blog, because she’s the sweetest! She decided to create a tag that’s a bit magical and the header was created by her as well. Each Friday has a different prompt, so let’s take look at this week’s topic!

Bookish Item | Book Beginnings on Friday: Vengeful – V.E. Schwab

It’s time for another Book Beginnings on Friday! This meme was created by Rose City Reader. The idea is to post the first sentence or so of the book you’re currently reading. After that you talk about your initial thoughts about the sentence, book or anything to do with that. I don’t know how often we will do this, but it seems like fun from time to time. Today’s book is Vengeful by V.E. Schwab. Continue reading “Bookish Item | Book Beginnings on Friday: Vengeful – V.E. Schwab” →

Bookish Item | Books to Read Before 2018: Did I Read Them?

Last week Isabelle took a look to see if she’d read any of her 2019 anticipated releases. I decided to get back a bit further than that. In September 2017 I wrote a post aboute the 12 books I wanted to read before 2018. So I decided to take a look for an update. Did I read any of them? Let’s take a look!

At the start of January Candyce and I did our Top Ten Tuesdays with the most anticipated releases for 2020. And I thought by myself, what books did I put on that list last year? And did I actually read them? I read 57 2019 releases, so you’d think I read all of the books on that TTT list. Let’s take a look! It’s been a month since our last Book Beginnings on Friday and I thought I would give it another go! This meme was created by Rose City Reader. The idea is to post the first sentence or so of the book you’re currently reading. After that you talk about your initial thoughts about the sentence, book or anything to do with that. I don’t know how often we will do this, but it seems like fun from time to time. Today’s book is Jackaby by William Ritter.

Bookish Item | Favorite Covers of 2019

This past week we’ve been talking about all the books we’ve loved and a few that disappointed us. People always say don’t judge a book by its cover, but even if you don’t want to, it’s still the first thing you see when you pick up a book. So today we wanted to devote a post to our favorite covers of 2019, let’s take a look!
