Bookish Item | My Favorite Bookish Royals

Yesterday was Kingsday in the Netherlands, our national holiday in honor of the king’s birthday. And I thought it would be fun to celebrate that by sharing my favorite bookish (male) royals with you all. As I read a lot of fantasy, there were a ton I could pick from. In the end, these are some of my favorites! Let’s jump in! Continue reading “Bookish Item | My Favorite Bookish Royals” →

Bookish Item| May TBR

I’ve really been enjoying mood reading and just seeing what calls to me when I sit down to read. In the TBR and Beyond Facebook group we always do middle grade May, so I will be adding a few middle grade books that I really want to read this month. So keep on reading to see what books I’m really hoping to read in May!

Bookish Item | Series I Want to Finish in 2023

One of my yearly reading goals is to finish 12 series. This is one of my goals every single year and I don’t think there has been one year where I’ve even gotten close haha. I actually started off strong this year and I hope to continue that. So I’ve made a list of series I want to finish this year. These are 7 book series with a pretty good chance of me finishing them this year!

Bookish Item| Bookstagram Chooses My Next 4 Books to Read

So I recently saw a few booktube videos where they let bookstagram choose their TBR. Chandler Ainsley was the latest one I saw do this and it made me curious. Hopefully this bookstagram chooses my next 4 books to read will introduce me to some new authors or make me finally read a few sequels.

Bookish Item | Ranking the Grishaverse Books

Thanks to the release of season 2 of Shadow and Bone I’m completely engulfed in the Grishaverse again haha. I reread Six of Crows and Crooked Kingdom and I’m currently rereading King of Scars. The whole Grishaverse consists of amazing books and I thought I would make it hard on myself again and rank the Grishaverse books. I’m not including the novella’s or Language of Thorns and Live of Saints. Some I have read, others I haven’t and it just doesn’t feel like a fair comparison. So I’m sticking to the 7 main books. Let’s jump in! Continue reading “Bookish Item | Ranking the Grishaverse Books” →

Bookish Item| April TBR

It’s almost the end of March, so time to start thinking about the books I want to read in April. Just like last month I think I’m going to keep this list smaller, so I can give myself the chance to mood read and join buddy/group reads that come along! So here is my April TBR. Let’s take a look at what I’m hoping to read.

Bookish Item | Books I Got in Chicago & New York

Two weeks ago I shared the bookstores I wanted to visit in Chicago and New York. And of course I couldn’t resist getting a couple books when I was there. I actually got more than I planned haha. Since I was traveling with only a carryon, I had very limited space but I made it work! Let’s take a look! Continue reading “Bookish Item | Books I Got in Chicago & New York” →

Bookish Beginnings On Friday | Anatomy: A Love Story – Dana Schwartz

Lately we’ve been using our bookish beginnings on Fridays to start tackling out Netgalley backlist. Besides our Netgalley backlist, I’m also trying to work on my physical backlist and want to talk about a book I plan on reading today after blogging. Anatomy: A Love Story is a young adult historical fiction that sounds amazing!

This meme was created by Rose City Reader. The idea is to post the first sentence or so of the book you’re currently reading. After that you talk about your initial thoughts about the sentence, book or anything to do with that.

Bookish Item | Bookstores to visit in Chicago & New York

While on this trip I obviously want to visit some bookstores! My weekend in Chicago was pretty booked (pun intended) but there was a small opening on Monday to hope into a bookstore. And since the friend I’m staying with in New York has to work during the day, I’ll have all the time browsing bookstore. With only carry on luggage, I have to be mindful of what I buy but I’m sure I can fit in a book or 2. Continue reading “Bookish Item | Bookstores to visit in Chicago & New York” →
