Bookish Item| April TBR

It’s almost the end of March, so time to start thinking about the books I want to read in April. Just like last month I think I’m going to keep this list smaller, so I can give myself the chance to mood read and join buddy/group reads that come along! So here is my April TBR. Let’s take a look at what I’m hoping to read.

Group/Buddy Reads

The Neighbor Favor – Kristina Forest

Our main character is a shy bookworm who wants to become an editor of children’s books. She talks about her frustrations with her favorite fantasy author online. What she doesn’t know is that the neighbor she has help her score a date is that favorite author. I love stories like this!

Sorcery of Thorns – Margaret Rogerson

Our series slayers group is finishing Kingdom of the Wicked this month, so we’ll be starting a new series in April. Sorcery of Thorns is up next and I have to say I’m looking forward to a reread. I’ve read this already, but loved it so much I don’t mind reading it all over.

ARCs/Tours

What the Hex – Jessica Clare

Go Hex Yourself was a fun read and I love witchy books. So when I got an invite for the book tour to promote What the Hex I had to sign up. Our two main characters must work together even though they don’t actually like each other. I definitely can enjoy a good enemies to lovers story, so let’s see what happens between these two.

The Fiancee Farce – Alexandria Bellefleur

A quiet bookseller and a romance novel cover model enter a marriage of convenience. That is one of my favorite tropes, so that’s all I really needed to know when I requested this one. The fact that one character owns a bookstore made me even more excited.

If We’re Being Honest – Cat Shook

Family can be a complicated thing and I have a feeling If We’re Being Honest is a going to be a good example of this. I love stories about family, so I need to give this one a try!

Physical Backlist Books

Once again I’ll be picking three random books from my physical TBR to read in April. I’m determined to tackle my books this year.

Chain of Gold – Cassandra Clare

It’s funny that this was the first book that I got from my random generator, because I just mentioned it in this week’s Top Ten Tuesday as a book I still haven’t read yet. I loved The Infernal Devices and I’ve been very excited about the spinoff. All three books are now out in the world, so it really is time for me to sit down and read Chain of Gold.

You’d Be Home Now – Kathleen Glasgow

After reading Girl in Pieces I really want to read the other two books I own by Kathleen. She writes hard-hitting books, but those can be the best. A story of a small town and its secrets. I know this is going to be another emotional read.

In My Dreams I Hold a Knife – Ashley Winstead

In My Dreams I Hold a Knife is a book I’ve been wanting to read since I heard about it. “Six friend. One college reunion. One unsolved murder.” That sounds interesting doesn’t it? I believe we get multiple POVs and I have a feeling this one is going to keep me on the edge of my feet.

As you can see this is a pretty small TBR, but I’m excited about all of these. What do you plan on reading in April? Let me know in the comments. I’d love to hear from you.
