Lately I’ve been reading some great graphic novels and manga so today I wanted to share my thoughts on a couple of them. I love reading graphic novels and manga and always try to have a couple on my TBR. Heartstopper is one of my favorite series so of course I had to get the newest volume. I also came across Descender and The Apothecary Diaries and decided to give them a try. Let’s jump in!

As you might know, I really enjoy reading graphic novels. I read all sorts of them but they can be quite pricey for the time you actually spend reading them. While I watch a lot of superhero movies, I haven’t actually read a lot of them. I love Marvel but there’s just so much to read. So I decided to try the Marvel Unlimited subscription for the comics. And today I wanted to share some of my experience. Let’s jump in! Continue reading “Bookish Item | Marvel Unlimited – Is It Worth It?”
Every now and then I read a bunch of graphic novels or comics in a row. I love reading them, they’re quick reads and I really enjoy looking at all of the gorgeous art. There are also a lot of comics that are connected to tv shows or movies and that is just amazing. So let’s dive into my 3 minireviews for today!

Two months ago we shared our graphic novel/comic wishlist. I love reading those a lot and when I’m feeling slumpish with my reading (as I do now) I love them even more! So today I wanted to show you all some more graphic novels that I have on my wishlist. I really wish I had more funds to just buy all of these, maybe some day! For now, let’s take a look. Last weekend the TBR and Beyond facebook group hosted a Graphic Novel Weekend Read-A-Thon. And while I had a super busy weekend I did manage to read 3 graphic novels. I love reading these quick reads and had gotten a couple for my birthday. After this read-a-thon I only have a couple more GN’s on my TBR, so I guess I can buy some more haha. Let’s take a look at which ones I read this past weekend. Continue reading “Mini Reviews | Comics Edition #9”
One of the books Candyce gifted me for my birthday was the bind-up comic The Archies and Other Stories. I had seen this one at Barnes & Nobles about a year ago or so and was immediately intrigued. The cover art and colors grabbed my attention and I’m a fan of all things Riverdale so I had to have this one. I’m so grateful Candyce decided to gift me this one! And obviously I had to read it right away haha. So let’s get into my thoughts. Continue reading “Review | The Archies and Other Stories – Matthew Rosenberg”
I have been reading some very enjoyable graphic novels lately and would love to tell you all about it. It’s so nice to alternate between ‘regular’ novels and graphic novels and my collection has been growing slowly! Today I have three mini reviews that are all first volumes. Let’s get into it! Continue reading “Mini Reviews | Comic Edition #8”
It’s been awhile since I talked about my recent comic reads, but today I have 3 mini reviews for you. These are all fantasy graphic novels, and are fairly new. They’re all 2018 releases. We’ll talk about I Hate Fairyland, Moonstruck, and Watersnakes today. Let’s get into it! Continue reading “Mini Reviews | Comic Edition #7”
I realized it had been some time since my last comic reviews and have since read a couple. So today seemed like the perfect time to do another one of these mini reviews. I will be talking about one more fun, slice of life kinda comic and two more gritty, thriller kind of comics. And when I say comic, I also mean graphic novel as I never know what term to use. So I just use both whenever I feel like it haha. Continue reading “Mini Reviews | Comic Edition #6”
We were looking for something to post on Sundays when we don’t have anything planned. Then I saw a post on Early Bookish Bird‘s blog and it seemed like the perfect fit. She started #howimetmybook so we’re alternating between #howimetmybook and Down the TBR hole on Sundays from now on! Today I will be posting about how I met Archie Volume 1: The New Riverdale by Mark Waid.
In this post we tell the story behind our books. The following questions will be answered: Where did we get the book? Why did we pick it up? What made us pick it up in the first place?
