It’s not often that I come across books where the author has the same name as me, haha. When that happened and I liked the sypnopsis of the book, I knew I had to read Bacon Pie! Jay Kristoff is an author I hear a lot about online in the bookish community. So far, I have only read The Illuminae Files that he wrote together with Amie Kaufman. His book Lifel1k3 has been something I want to read for quite awhile, so when I had the chance to buddyread it with a few people, I signed up!
In December and January, TBR & Beyond did a group read of The Star-Touched Queen & A Crown of Wishes. After reading Aru Shah, I was really interested in the author’s other work. Because I read both books pretty close together in time, I decided to do a mini review for each book and post them together!

The Birds, The Bees & You and Me is a story that spoke to me after reading the summary. When I was in high school, we only had abstinence only sex-ed. I think it’s important that teenagers know how to protect themselves. Unfortunately, not all teenagers are educated at home either. This book is important. It teaches about how to protect yourselves, standing up for what you want, how important consent is and also has a really sweet love story!

The Princess of Baker Street is a book like I’ve never read before. I have read quite a few books, but nothing as beautifully hearbreaking as this one.
