Review | The Queen of Nothing – Holly Black

I did it! I read the whole The Folk of the Air trilogy (in about a month I might add). For a notorious not-finishing-any-series reader that’s quite an accomplishment haha. Candyce and I already shared our buddyreviews for The Cruel Prince and The Wicked King. Today it’s finally time for my review of The Queen of Nothing! Did the conclusion of the trilogy live up to the first two books? Keep on reading to see my thoughts on it.
There will be spoilers for The Cruel Prince and The Wicked King so beware! Continue reading “Review | The Queen of Nothing – Holly Black”

Review Blast| A Slice of Love – Teagan Hunter

Teagan Hunter is a go to author for me when I need a laugh and a good romance. Even though her stories can be serious at times, there are always funny/lighter moments mixed in. The Slice series has been a lot of fun so far and I’ve reviewed them all up until now (A Pizza My Heart, I Knead You Tonight & Doughn’t Let Me Go).

This week the novella, A Slice of Love, was released. It was first found in the anthology Team Player 2, but can now be bought seperately. A big thanks to Wildfire Marketing Solutions and the author for providing me with an ARC to read and review.

Review| Dance of Despair – Kara S. Weaver

Bookish friends are the best and even more so when they write books that you love. A really good friend of mine wrote her first book last year, Crown of Conspiracy, and I loved it. I’m a bad friend, because I still need to write that review, but that will change in the near future. The second book, Dance of Despair, came out at the end of February and it was so good.

This is a sequel, so I’ll do my best to give you all of my thoughts without any spoilers. I want you to be able to read the first book and experience all the feels before diving into this one. So let’s take a look at my review!

Review| Deadly First Day – Emily Kazmierski

Books that take place at school or at boarding schools are something I love to read. If you add a little mystery and romance, I’ll definitely give it a chance. Deadly First Day, the first book in the Embassy Academy series, checks off all of those boxes. With the sequel releasing later this month, I thought it was the perfect time to review Deadly First Day!

Review| My Life as a Pop Album – LJ Evans

LJ Evans has quickly become one of my favorite authors and that all started out with My Life as a Country Album. She really hits you in all the feels and that doesn’t change at all during any of her books. After reading Jake and Cam’s story, I was worried that nothing would be able to beat that. I was wrong though, because Mia and Derek are really special as well. Keep on reading for my full review of the second book in this series, My Life as a Pop Album!

Mini Review | The Test – Sylvain Neuvel

The Test had been on my TBR for a bit and when I came across it for a decent price I just had to get it. This was one of my first books for the O.W.L.’s readathon. It’s a very short book so this won’t be a very long review but I wanted to share my thoughts nonetheless. Let’s dive in!

Review| Josh and Hazel’s Guide to Not Dating – Christina Lauren

I don’t think I need to say that I’m a big fan of romance, haha. That being said, I always like trying out new books. Christina Lauren is a duo that I definitely know about, but haven’t read much by. I think the only book I reviewed is Autoboyography. A friend of mine was listening to Josh and Hazel’s Guide to Not Dating and said it was really good.

At that moment, I was looking for a new romance to start and decided to give this one a go. Did I end up enjoying this book? Let’s take look!

Mini Reviews | Giant Days Vol. 1, The Backstagers Vol. 1 & Lumberjanes Vol. 1

Just like Isabelle, I decided to use the month free on Scribd. In this time I think it’s really amazing that a company does something like this. Don’t get me wrong, I love Storytel, but I can now read some more graphic novels. This month was the perfect time to give some a go. So today I want to tell you what I thought of the first volume of Giant Days, The Backstagers and Lumberjanes!

Mini Reviews | Goldie Vance vol 1 – 3 – Hope Larson & Brittney Williams

Scribd gives out a free month long trial because of the worldwide quarantine. So of course I made use of that! I had a couple of graphic novels on my to read list I wanted to try through Scribd. As soon as I started my free trial, I picked up Goldie Vance. I believe there are currently 4 volumes but Scribd limits you and I wasn’t able to read the fourth volume. So today I want to talk about the first 3 volumes. Let’s dive in! Continue reading “Mini Reviews | Goldie Vance vol 1 – 3 – Hope Larson & Brittney Williams”

Review| Penalty Box – Kayla Tirrell

If you’ve been following our blog for awhile, you’ll know I’m a big fan of Kayla Tirrell’s books! I’ve loved them all so far and am always excited when the next one arrives. This is her first dive into an adult sports romance. Today I want to tell you all about it!

A big thanks to the author for providing me with an ARC to read and review!
