TTT #288 | Books I Recommend to Others the Most

We have been having fun with Top Ten Tuesday, so we decided we will do one every week. This bookish meme was hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, and has been going since June 2010! Since January 2018 Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.

This week’s topic is Books I Recommend to Others the Most. What a fun topic! I have to think for a bit, because I feel like I don’t actually recommend books that often. But I’m sure I can think of a couple. So let’s jump in! Continue reading “TTT #288 | Books I Recommend to Others the Most”

5 On My TBR | Whimsical Books

As I’ve mentioned before, one of my important reading goals of 2023 is shrinking my physical TBR. Sometimes it’s hard to think of what books I still have or subjects I want to read about. So we needed a way to keep track of this. 5 On My TBR is a way of keeping track. This is a meme hosted by E from Local Bee Hunter’s Nook. Every week there’s a different prompt for five on my TBR.

This week’s topic is whimsical. I honestly had to look up what this would mean for books before looking for titles. Whimsical is “playfully quaint or fanciful”. So I looked at my shelves and took five books that looked our sounded whimsical to me.

Royal Update #175

We thought it was time for a fun new post every week. In the Royal Update one of us updates you about our personal life, bookish news, what we’re reading, watching and listening to and anything else that might apply to this post. We thought it would be fun to share a bit more about our personal lives and hope you think so too! Continue reading “Royal Update #175”

Down the TBR Hole #101

Since my last Down the TBR Hole post I’ve read two of the books on my want to read shelf. So I’m starting off better than I did with my last post. Hopefully I can keep this going. Reading books off my shelves in the house has been helping, haha.

Down the TBR Hole was originally created over at Lost in a Story. It looked like a fun and productive way to finally make a dent in that Goodreads TBR. I went through my want-to-read shelf a little while ago but I think I was still to kind on a lot of books. Let’s see what I’ll make of it this time around. I decided to go with 10 books at a time so lets get started!

Review | Yellowface – R.F. Kuang

I was definitely curious about this one because R.F. Kuang wrote is, and because she posted an intriguing tiktok about it. After seeing some great early reviews I just knew I had to read it as well. I was very lucky to receive an eARC through Netgalley and I’m excited to share my thoughts with you all. Even though I do think this one will be pretty hard to review. Let’s dive in!

Bookish Item| Bookstagram Chooses My Next 4 Reads Part 2

I recently wrote a post bookstagram choose my next 4 reads and I’m having a lot of fun. I’m about to start the third book, so I’ll be updating you all about this experience soon. Seeing how I’m almost done with this first round and it’s a success I want to give it another go.

Here’s a little reminder what this is all about. These books can be anything except sequels of series I haven’t read yet and I can only veto one book. So let’s see what four books I get to read for this round!

Book Tour| Fake Dates and Mooncakes – Sher Lee

As a big fan of the fake dating trope, I knew I needed to get my hands on Fake Dates and Mooncakes. So I’m really excited to share my interview with Sher Lee on my stop of the book tour hosted by TBR and Beyond Tours. Keep on reading to find out more about this book and the author!

Review | Throne of Glass – Sarah J. Maas

Recently I’ve been rereading the Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Maas and I realised I never reviewed most of the books in the series. Candyce and I did a buddy review (our very first one!) of Tower of Dawn when it was released and I reviewed book 4 on Goodreads (in Dutch) but that’s it. So I thought this reread was the perfect time to review the books again. There might be some spoilers as I will also comment on some things to come. Let’s dive in! Can’t Wait Wednesday | Every Exquisite Thing – Laura Steven

We wanted to do another bookish meme on Wednesday and after doing Can’t Wait Wednesday a few times we decided that would be a fun one to bring around more often! About twice a month you’ll see this meme on our blog.

Can’t Wait Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Wishful Endings, to spotlight and discuss the books we’re excited about that we have yet to read. Generally they’re books that have yet to be released. It’s based on Waiting on Wednesday, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine. Continue reading “Can’t Wait Wednesday | Every Exquisite Thing – Laura Steven”
