We have been having fun with Top Ten Tuesday, so we decided we will do one every week. This bookish meme was hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, and has been going since June 2010! Since January 2018 Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.
This week’s topic is a Halloween Freebie. I decided to go with my Halloween ‘TBR’ or all my spooky/mystery/thriller books I would like to read this coming week haha. Let’s jump in!
1. Before the Devil Breaks You – Libba Bray
I really enjoyed Lair of Dreams and I can’t wait to read book 3 in the series. It would also be great to not wait for years again haha. And the spooky vibes are perfect for October.
2. Death Note Black Edition vol. VI – Tsugumi Ohba
I need to finish this series! This is also a quick read so I definitely want to read this one this week. It’s nice to finish some series this year and also cross off some books from my physical TBR.
3. Ninth House – Leigh Bardugo
This one is a big one and it has been on my TBR for awhile. I also believe the sequel is coming out pretty soon so this would be a good time to finally pick this one up.
4. The Cousins – Karen McManus
This probably is a quick read. I really enjoy YA mysteries and Karen’s books are usually easy read. The last couple books seemed to follow a certain pattern and I’m curious to see if this one is a bit more unique.
5. The Agathas – Kathleen Glasgow & Liz Lawson
One of my latest acquires. I think this YA mystery is going to be great and I love that I will be able to read more books as this is the start of a series. Also, this is probably less of a quick read as it’s over 400 pages.
6. Not Even Bones – Rebecca Schaeffer
I got the eARC for Rebecca’s newest release and that made me think about this one. This fantasy sounds super interesting and has been compared to Dexter and This Savage Song. Two things I love so I have high hopes!
7. Escaping From Houdini – Kerri Maniscalco
While this series isn’t my favorite I would love to read the rest of it. The titles are great and people keep saying the books getting better the further in the story you are. And since I already own all 4 books I should just read the last two.
8. Sawkill Girls – Claire Legrand
I didn’t realise this was a horror story when I bought it haha. A lot of people love this one so I do still want to try it. But if it’s to much horror I’m just going to put it down and leave it like that.
9. A Stranger in the House – Shari Lapena
I have two Shari Lapena books on my TBR and decided to go with this one. A friend of mine loved it and I would love to read some more adult mysteries. I’ve neglected that genre for too long ;).
10. Pieces of Her – Karin Slaughter
After finally reading another Karin Slaugher book, and loving it, I would love to pick up another one. I still have a couple on my TBR and after that there are more releases I haven’t gotten yet.

Great topic, have fun with your tbr!
I wasn’t the biggest fan of The Cousins, personally, despite loving One Of Us Is Lying. I just found it quite average, compared to her other books which really stand out. I’ll be interested to hear what you think!

Pieces of Her and Ninth House have both been really good. I haven’t read any of the others, but The Agathas is one I really want to read soon!
Have a fun Halloween!

You’ve reminded me that I really want to read Not Even Bones and Sawkill Girls! I also have Ninth House on my TBR but I feel like I have to be in a better headspace to read that one 😂 I hope you enjoy all of these books!

I really liked The Cousins- I’m probably in the minority that it’s one of y favorite books by her, even though the One Of Us Is Lying series gets all the attention, and while it wasn’t perfect I loved the whole island vibe. I just finished Ninth House too and while I didn’t love it, again I might be in the minority there haha.

I would love to read The Agathas soon. I have a copy of it on loan from the library. But I have so much other stuff I need to read, so I feel it will be going back without reading it. 😦

Good luck with your TBR! =)
I read so many of those books and enjoyed it so I hope you’ll like them too!
I loved Before The Devil Breaks You, my favourite Diviners book, so I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. Not Even Bones was also a really fun read, and I did like Escaping From Houdini too. Ninth House was a good read, but it is a bit slow going, so just a warning for that!
