It’s Wednesday, so time for a new WWW Wednesday to talk about my reading progress and plans. I really love these posts and talking more about what I’m reading before the monthly wrap up. Even if my reading plans change I like thinking about what I’m going to read!
So it’s time for my next WWW Wednesday. This is a weekly meme hosted by Taking On a World of Words and you participate by simply answering three questions:
- What did you recently finish reading?
- What are you currently reading?
- What do you think you’ll read next?
What did you recently finish reading?
Dark Room Etiquette – Robin Roe
Dark Room Etiquette was such a dark and intense book, but so well written. Our main character gets kidnapped and is with his kidnapper for so long he doesn’t know what to believe anymore. The author also showed us the aftermath of this trauma. It was nice to have a story that things didn’t go back to normal just because he got home. I really hope this author writes more books.
What Lies Beyond the Veil – Harper L. Woods
Books with fae catch my attention and after seeing What Lies Beyond the Veil everywhere on bookstagram I needed to give it a go. I read this book in just about one sitting. I loved the world building, characters, and twists. I know I’ll be reading the second book very soon.
A Flicker in the Dark – Stacy Willingham
It’s not spooky season without at least one thriller, so I listened to the audiobook of A Flicker in the Dark. I loved this book. There were a few things I saw coming, but other things really surprised me. Stacy Willingham is an author I want to read more from.
What are you currently reading?
It Starts with Us – Colleen Hoover
After reading It Ends with Us when it released I (just like other fans) definitely wanted more of these characters. I have about 100 pages to go and in all honesty it’s clear this book was written for fans. Not much happens, but I love learning more about these characters and Atlas’ past.
I’m Glad My Mom Died – Jennette McCurdy
I don’t normally read nonfiction, but Jennette McCurdy’s memoir is one I was really curious about. I started the audiobook and she’s went through a lot of horrific things. It’s so heartbreaking to read and it’s amazing she had the courage to show this to the world.
Kingdom of the Cursed – Kerri Maniscalco
After reading Kingdom of the Wicked I wasn’t really sure if I wanted to continue with the trilogy. I think I was just a bit hyped up and wasn’t feeling it. A lot of people told me the second book was even better and after seeing all the rave reviews for the third book I decided to give the sequel a try. I’m so glad I did!! I’m about halfway through and it’s so good!
The Pool Boy – Nikki Sloane
The Pool Boy is another case of bookstagram made me do it. I’ve never read age gap romances and wasn’t sure they were for me, but I’m loving The Pool Boy. It’s very spicy and I’m curious to see how this ends.
What do you think you’ll read next?
Marks on the Moon – T.D. Colbert
T.D. Colbert is an author I’ve read books by and loved and after a couple of years she’s finally back with a new book. Marks on the Moon releases November 3rd and I’m so excited that I got an e-arc. After reading the synopsis I have a feeling Marks on the Moon is going to break my heart, but it’s going to be worth it.
Meet Me Under the Mistletoe – Jenny Bayliss
A friend and I are reading Christmas books together and Meet Me Under the Mistletoe is up next. We both loved The Twelve Dates of Christmas and Meet Me Under the Mistletoe is the newest release by this author. All I needed to know is that the main character owns a secondhand bookshop. I’m so excited to read this.
Her Soul to Take – Harley Laroux
Her Soul to Take is another book I’ve seen on bookstagram and BookTok and I’m not sure it’ll be for me, but I’m curious. It’s a horror romance. This book has had some amazing reviews though, so I’m going to give it a try.
Ship Wrecked – Olivia Dade
Spoiler Alert is one of my favorite romance series and Ship Wrecked is the third book in the series. I have an e-arc and I can’t wait to read it. If you read my Netgalley Next post from this week you will have seen that this book starts off with a bang, haha. I’ll be reviewing this one soon.
So that’s my WWW Wednesday for this week? Have you read any amazing books lately? Or are you reading one now? Let me know in the comments! I’d love to hear from you.
A good mix of books there. And so many! I love Bookstagram for reading suggestions!
I want to read Meet Me Under The Mistletoe.
Have a great week!
