TTT #257 | Thrillers I Want to Read

We have been having fun with Top Ten Tuesday, so we decided we will do one every week. This bookish meme was hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, and has been going since June 2010! Since January 2018 Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.

This week’s topic is favorite bookstores or bookstores you want to visit. I won’t make it to ten with those, so I decided to do my own topic. It’s spooky season which means I like to pick up some spooky books and thrillers. Here are ten of those I want to read.

In My Dreams I Hold a Knife – Ashley Winstead

In My Dreams I Hold a Knife is a thriller I’ve heard amazing things about and I’ve been wanting to read it for quite some time. Six friends, a college reunion, and an unsolved murder. Sounds interesting doesn’t it?!? This story is told through dual timelines and I love that. Now to decide if I’ll read it physically or listen to the audiobook.

Little Creeping Things – Chelsea Ichaso

I’ve had Little Creeping Things on my bookshelf for way too long. The cover still creeps me out, but it seems like the perfect time of year to finally sit down and read this one. When Melody goes missing, Cassidy is worried. She decides to go look for her herself before things can point back to her. I’m intrigued.

Dead Girls Can’t Tell Secrets – Chelsea Ichaso

Savannah’s sister has been in a coma since a fall last month, but was it really an accident? The synopsis says we have an unreliable narrator. I love stories with those, so yet again another perfect one for this time of year.

The It Girl – Ruth Ware

The It Girl is a book I’ve seen around since right before the release and I even have an e-arc. I started reading it, but like normal I got distracted by other books. I’m working on my Netgalley feedback ratio, so it’s time for me to read it. Our main character realizes a year later that the man put behind bars for her friend’s murder may not be the one behind the crime.

Stay Awake – Megan Goldin

Megan Goldin wrote The Night Swim and I really enjoyed that thriller. Stay Awake seems like another thrilling story. Our main character wakes up in the back of a taxi with no idea how she got there and doesn’t remember anything from the last two years and has a bloody knife in her pocket. What happened?!?

Secluded Cabin Sleeps Six – Lisa Unger

Secluded Cabin Sleeps Six is a book that releases in November, but that I have an e-arc of. Three couples go stay in a luxurious cabin in the woods for a weekend getaway. A deadly storm is brewing and it seems there may be some secrets about to come out.

The Writing Retreat – Julia Bartz

So this is another e-arc and The Writing Retreat doesn’t release until February, but I really want to read this one. A young author is invited to an exclusive writing retreat. If she completes a full length novel while there they could have a chance at a seven-figure publishing deal. Then things start getting darker and an author goes missing during a snowstorm. This is the perfect read for a stormy night.

Killers of a Certain Age – Deanna Raybourn

Killers of a Certain Age caught my attention, because the main characters are sixty year old assassins celebrating their retirement. Well they want to until someone is out to get them. I have a feeling this is going to be an interesting one.

What Have We Done – Alex Finlay

What Have We Done is another e-arc I have that will be releasing in March. For some reason I’m really in the mood for thrillers now, so I’ll get a head start. A group comes together when someone is trying to kill them. They haven’t seen each other in years, but they now have one thing in common again.

Survive the Night – Riley Sager

Riley Sager is an author I’ve been wanting to try for quite some time now. Survive the Night is one I’ve been really curious about. Our main character may be traveling in the car with a serial killer. This is going to be an interesting ride!
