We have been having fun with Top Ten Tuesday, so we decided we will do one every week. This bookish meme was hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, and has been going since June 2010! Since January 2018 Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.
This week’s topic is a School Freebie; in honor of school starting up, pick a topic that somehow ties to school/education. And I took this as a perfect opportunity to talk about books with magical schools! I love a good book with a magical school and I love talking about them. So let’s jump in!
1. The Scholomance
I adore this trilogy and I can’t wait for the last book to be released. It will be a thrill of a read, I’m sure of it. This school is very dark and twisted, so while I love reading about it, I would never want to attend it haha. In general, this world is pretty dark and I’m excited to see more of it in the last book of the series.
2. The School for Good and Evil
This is such a fun twist on the traditional magical school. I really enjoyed the first trilogy and I still need to continue the next series. It was so cool seeing both sides of the school and see some fairytales play out. Talking about this one reminds me I need to get back to this world soon.
3. The Little Palace
Some might say this is not really a magical school but it is where the Grisha were trained so I say it counts haha. This was such an interesting place and I would’ve loved to read more about it under different circumstances. I really liked reading about the way the Grisha were trained.
4. Eleanor West’s Home for Wayward Children
There may not be actual magic at this place but it feels magical nevertheless. And when a door appears, the magic will follow. I love this series a lot, although I don’t love every single book. There will be a new instalment soon and I have the eARC to read! Hopefully it will be a good one.
5. Nevermoor
This city, the Wondrous Society and the school are amazing to read about. I still need to read Hollowpox and join the wait for Silverborn. Morrigan is an interesting character to read about and I love discovering this world with her.
6. Mystwick
This is such a cool magical system! It all revolves around music and that is incorporated in the audiobook, I highly recommend listening to those. The school is interesting and I like the characters. I have a feeling I know where the story is going and which ‘twists’ are coming. But I still want more of this school and this world!
7. Watford School of Magicks
This might not be the best written fantasy book and magical school but I still liked the magic system a lot! And I would argue that this story is less about the magic and more about the characters and their relationships. I still need to read the last book and I keep putting it off haha. Hopefully it’s as good as Fangirl.
8. Witch Hat Atelier
This is less of a traditional school, as there are a couple of students living with different teachers or mentors in this world. However, it has magic and there are students who are being taught. And this is another world with super interesting magic. I’ve currently read 4 books out of the 10 that are released so far. This is a manga series I want to continue soon!

This week I only have 8 magical school for you. While there are definitely more magical schools out there, this are school (and books) I enjoyed a lot! Maybe, hopefully, there will be another post like this with more amazing magical school. If you have a recommendation for me, please let me know down below!
Ooh, great list! I had Nevermoor on mine as well but I also loved Witch Hat Atelier (though I still need to finish the series)! The Mystwick School of Musicraft also looks really good and I definitely want to check that one out 🙂

What a fun list and new to me books, Mystwick and Witch Hat Atelier. Have to check those out for sure. Nevermoor is so good, can’t wait for Silverborn, sigh.
Magical schools are so much fun to read about! 🙂

I’ve heard good things about Nevermoor.
Here is our Top Ten Tuesday. Thank you!
Yeah, The Little Palace would be a great place to spend time without the whole war thing!

A great looking list. I don’t read many books about magical schools, but these look good.
Have a great week!

I did a similar theme this week, and The Little Palace made my TTT, too! I really need to read Carry On and its sequels. Great list!
