TTT #249 | Five Star Reads Predictions

We have been having fun with Top Ten Tuesday, so we decided we will do one every week. This bookish meme was hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, and has been going since June 2010! Since January 2018 Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.

This week’s topic is hilarious book titles, but I’ve been thinking about it for a few days and I’m blanking on this topic. So I decided to do my own thing. It’s fun doing five star predictions and it’s been awhile since I’ve done one of these posts, so here are ten books I expect to be five star reads (which will be a combination of books already out there and that will be released before the end of the year)!

Love on the Brain – Ali Hazelwood

Love on the Brain is one of my most anticipated August releases and I have high expectations. I’ve loved everything I’ve read by Ali Hazelwood so far. Enemies to lovers is always a fun trope and I hope we get great banter!

Things We Never Got Over – Lucy Score

Things We Never Got Over has been everywhere since it released and I’ve heard nothing but amazing things. Lucy Score is an author I’ve been wanting to give a try, so I’d say this book is a great one to start with. If I remember correctly we get the grumpy/sunshine trope and I always love that one.

Thank You for Listening – Julie Whelan

I actually think Thank You for Listening is a book I’ve talked about a few times on the blog, so I think adding it to my five star predictions made sense. Our main character is an audiobook narrator and ends up working with another well known narrator to record the last book by a famous romance author. I’m excited!

The Do-Over – Lynn Painter

So far the two books I’ve read by Lynn Painter have been five star reads, so I have high hopes for The Do-Over. Our main character has to relive her worst Valentine’s Day over and over. That’s going to be interesting.

Terms and Conditions – Lauren Asher

The Fine Print was a book that I loved and I’ve heard from many readers that they loved Terms and Conditions even more. Also, I have to mention again how much I love these alternative covers. This book has the marriage of convenience trope and besides fake dating I love it, so I’m excited to pick this one up.

Faking with Benefits – Lily Gold

Quite a few books on this list are books I’ve been seeing everywhere on bookstagram lately. Another one of these books is Faking with Benefits. Our main character is 28 and has never had a boyfriend. Her three best friends decide to be her practice boyfriends. This is going to get interesting…

The Bodyguard – Katherine Center

After seeing this everywhere when it released I have to say I’m really curious about The Bodyguard. I’ll actually be reading it this week, so hopefully I can tell you soon if my prediction is correct. This is a bodyguard romance, but out female main character is the bodyguard. I love the idea of that and I’ll be starting it later today.

The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches – Sangu Mandanna

I recently talked about The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches in my August TBR post, but I definitely think it deserves a spot on my list of predicted five star reads. I love book with witches and I have a feeling this one is going to leave me with a smile on my face.

Carrie Soto is Back – Taylor Jenkins Reid

Taylor Jenkins Reid has been a five star author for me the last few books I’ve read by her. Apparently Carrie Soto made an appearance in Malibu Rising. I’m not an athlete myself, but I’m interested to read about this character’s comeback.

A Strange and Stubborn Endurance – Foz Meadows

A Strange and Stubborn Endurance is a book I actually stumbled upon while watching a Booktube video. This book is filled with politics, romance, and apparently some more intense subjects. Our main character ends up marrying his intended’s brother instead. I hear this isn’t always easy to read, but that it’s amazing. I’ll have to find out for myself.

  1. Nothing wrong with following your own path. At least one or two of these have funny titles! Like the witches one… The Secret Society of Irregular witches. Sounds like fun. I will take a look at a few of these.

    Happy TTT!
