We wanted to do another bookish meme on Wednesday and after doing Can’t Wait Wednesday a few times we decided that would be a fun one to bring around more often! About twice a month you’ll see this meme on our blog.

Can’t Wait Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Wishful Endings, to spotlight and discuss the books we’re excited about that we have yet to read. Generally they’re books that have yet to be released. It’s based on Waiting on Wednesday, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine.

The Breakfast Club meets The Usual Suspects in this riveting YA mystery told entirely through the first-person police interviews of four teens over the course of several hours that asks: what happened at Salvation Creek?

An influencer, an over achiever, a heartthrob, an outcast, and a conspiracy theorist go into the woods for a camping trip at Salvation Creek.

Sometime around midnight, one of them vanishes.

Now, the four who came back are under suspicion, and they each have a very different story to tell about the events of the night.

With one of them missing, and the clock ticking, why would they lie? Who is hiding what? And what dark truths will their lies reveal?

As you might know I really enjoy reading YA mysteries and the synopsis for this one sounds really good. I like the sound of the way this is told, completely through police interviews. There will for sure be a ton of unreliable narration with that and I like it. It’s cool to try and figure out who is lying and what happened.

The rest of the synopsis doesn’t give us that much, just a bit of a generic story to be honest. But that should be fine if it’s well written and the concept with the police interviews works. And if we get interesting characters that can carry the story. The book is pretty big with over 400 pages so I’m very curious what the author has written for us.
