We have been having fun with Top Ten Tuesday, so we decided we will do one every week. This bookish meme was hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, and has been going since June 2010! Since January 2018 Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.
This week’s topic is Posts I’ve Written That Give You the Best Glimpse of Me; share the blog/Insta/Twitter posts or YouTube/TikTok videos you’ve made that showcase your personality the most and offer the clearest window into your personality. I think this is a really fun topic but also, I have no idea which posts to share haha. Thinking about the posts I wrote, I guess the ones about things I love show the most of my personality. So that is what I went with! Let’s jump in!
Every couple of years there is a favorite book quotes TTT and I love doing those. I think showcasing some of my favorite quotes really shows you part of my personality.
I couldn’t choose between these book quote posts, this one has all inspirational book quotes. And I don’t think these will be inspirational for everyone, but they sure are inspirational to me!
3. Ranking the Harry Potter books & movies
While I’m really disappointed with J.K. Rowling lately, I do still love the Harry Potter books and movies. For a while I did a couple of ranking posts and I think your ranking of the Harry Potter books and movies says something about you. So this for sure shows part of my personality.
4. Ranking Sarah J. Maas books
Another ranking posts! Candyce and I met during a Sarah J. Maas readalong so I will forever be grateful for that readalong. Like with the previous pick, I ranked all the Sarah J. Maas books I read at that point, I think it shows part of what I enjoy in books.
V.E. Schwab is one of my favorite authors, so of course I also did a ranking of all her books (that I read by that point). This is the last of the ranking posts, but I just couldn’t pick between all of these!
6. Computer games I’m obsessed with
One thing I’m doing a lot lately is gaming. I got a nice gaming computer almost a year and a half ago and I’ve been enjoying it so much. Like with books, I’m collecting games and I have way too many I still need to dive into. I have been loving so many games and just talking about it makes me want to go ahead and play some more.
I love reading books (obviously) but I also discovered manga a couple of years ago and I adore it. While not all of them have been a hit, I have found some incredible series that I love with all of my heart.
When I’m not listening to music or an audiobook, I am probably listening to a podcast. I love listening to someone telling me a good story and with podcasts I can do just that for hours and hours. If I’m not putting anything in my brain, I will start thinking and that isn’t always a good idea haha. So listening to podcasts is a great way to quiet my mind.
Since a couple of years I have been rereading more and more. This post is about the Raised by Wolves series I reread earlier this year and if it lived up to my memories. I thought it was really fun writing a review this way and it also shows part of my personality.
10. Comfort Reads
I think comfort reads are super personal, what I find comforting might not be comforting to someone else at all. This post has some of my absolute comfort reads and I loved thinking about that and writing it down.
That was my top 10 for this week! I had some troubles at first but at some point I just went for it and these are the 10 posts I came up with. Hopefully they show some parts of my personality. I would also love to know; what are some of your comfort reads? Let me know down below!
I feel the same way about Harry Potter and Rowling. What terrible choices she has made, but I love the world she created.
I can and will read the HP books whenever I want, as I own them all. The same with the movies. But if it involves JKR receiving any royalties, I avoid it. I won’t and can’t agree with her philosophy.
