When I was in New York I fell in love with the Haikyu! manga and have been obsessed ever since. But it also reminded me of other manga series I was reading and that I want to get back into. So today I wanted to share a couple of the manga series I’m reading. Let’s jump in!
Haikyu! – Haruichi Furudate
Of course I still had to mention Haikyu haha. So far I have read 12 out of 45 books. I’m trying to pace myself since I adore the series and don’t want it to be over. But also because it would cost me way too much money if I had to buy new ones in a higher tempo haha. This is such a cute and fun story, I love the volleyball stuff but also the slice of life part of the story.
The Promised Neverland – Kaiu Shirai
This is one of my favorite manga series! It’s pretty dark, darker than you’d expect at first. I really enjoy reading about this world, but like I said the story is pretty dark and a big part of that is the worldbuilding. So far I’ve read 7 out of the 20 volumes, not too bad if I say so myself. It’s nice to know there is more to come but I’m also scared about the fate of my favorite characters.
Witch Hat Atelier – Kamome Shirahama
I adore this one a lot, it’s super cute and has a cool magic system. The characters are interesting a we learn a little bit more about the woldbuilding in every new volume. So far I’ve read 4 out of 12 volumes. This series is still ongoing so I would love to catch up to there and keep up with the newest releases.
Gangsta – Kohske
I’ve read 4 out of what looks like 8 volumes. So I guess I’m already half way through! This is a pretty brutal manga, but with a very interesting storyline and world. I really enjoyed the worldbuilding and I’m very curious to see how this story continues.
These are 4 of the series I’m currently reading. Most are finished so I have a clear goal about how much more volumes I have to read. This can be pretty nice and I like not having a huge series I might never finish. Have you read any of these manga? Or something similar you’d like to recommend to me? Let me know in the comments!
I’m always on the lookout for new Manga. These sounds interesting and I’m going to check them all out. The one Manga I’ve been hooked on for a while has been Ooku: The Inner Chambers, which is an alternate history of Japan, where the women are the ruler and the men are the “servants”. This is partly due to the fact that a disease killed off most of the men.
I started Witch Hat Atelier but I need to read volume 2.
