TTT #214 | Books I Want to Read Before the End of the Year

We have been having fun with Top Ten Tuesday, so we decided we will do one every week. This bookish meme was hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, and has been going since June 2010! Since January 2018 Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.

This week’s topic is a freebie so I decided to go with Books I Want to Read Before the End of the Year. We have a little less than 4 weeks to go so I’m not sure if I’ll be able to read 10 more books but I’ll try my best! Let’s take a look.

1.Death Note Black Edition volume V – Tsugumi Ohba

After reading vol IV I can’t wait to pick this one up. I was really shocked by some events and I can’t wait to see what happens next. After this one I have only one more volume to go so that means I’m almost done with the series.

2. Come Out and Play – Amber Lynn Natusch

I LOVED the first two books in the Hometown Antihero series and I can’t wait to see what happens next. There is a lot of suspense and mystery and I need answers! I also love these characters and I just want more more more.

3. The Righteous – Renee Ahdieh

I loved The Beautiful and ended up enjoyed The Damned. With a new POV in this instalment and some unexpected twists I’m very excited to pick this one up. My copy is also an eARC so that would be great for my Netgalley numbers.

4. If This Gets Out – Sophie Gonzalez & Cale Dietrich

Another Netgalley eARC, and one I’m super excited about. I loved Sophie Gonzales’ previous novel and this one sounds very interesting. If this isn’t going to be a fast, fun read than I will be a bit disappointed haha.

5. Chef’s Kiss – Jarrett Melendez

This is a graphic novel I expect to read fairly quickly. I read the first couple of pages and enjoyed it so far. Hopefully the rest will continue to be interesting! This is another eARC.

6. Survive the Night – Riley Sager

So I filled this list with a lot of eARC’s haha. This is another one… And one I’m very excited about. I loved the Riley Sager book I read previously and think this one sounds like something I will enjoy a lot.

7. As Good As Dead – Holly Black

I can’t believe I haven’t read this one yet! The first two books (and the novella) were amazing and I flew through them. This is a big one but I think it will be another great read and I can’t wait to see what happens with our beloved characters.

8. The Future of Another Timeline – Annalee Newitz

I love time travel stories so of course I want to read this one. But it’s also a pretty short book so that would be nice for these last couple of reading weeks. I have high hopes for this one. It’s published by Tor and I enjoy a lot of their books.

9. The Dragon Reborn – Robert Jordan

I’m about 60% in the audiobook of the second instalment in the Wheel of Time series and I’m sure I will pick up book 3 with my next credit. The tv show is amazing and also helps me keeping some of the characters straight in my head. With more instalments come more characters so this will be difficult, especially with all those similar names but I enjoy it nevertheless.

10. A Girl Called Shameless – Laura Steven

The Exact Opposite of Okay is one of my favorite books ever and I can’t believe I still haven’t read this one yet. A couple of weeks ago I read a different Laura Steven book and I reminded me of my love for her. Hopefully I can manage this one before the end of the year!

    1. Haha, I know that feeling! These 10 probably won’t happen either…. Hope you’ll find the time for Midnight in Everwood!

    1. Thank you!! We love doing that, saw it somewhere else as well haha.

  1. I still need to read Good Girl, Bad Blood before I can read As Good As Dead. I was surprised by how chunky As Good As Dead is though! I did read A Girl Called Shameless, and I liked it, though The Exact Opposite of Okay was definitely better.

    1. As Good As Dead is HUGE for a YA mystery/thriller haha. I really enjoyed Good Girl, Bad Blood, hope you do too! I loved The Exact Opposite of Okay so I can imagine the A Girl Called Shameless won’t be as good….

    1. I hope you end up enjoying the show! I think it’s great!! Excited to pick up The Dragon Reborn myself 🙂

    1. Thank you! I will definitely post a review for both of those after finishing them <3

    1. That’s good to hear! The Exact Opposite of Okay is so good so I have high hopes 😉

  2. I listened to the audiobooks of the Wheel of Time Series too. I loved these books when I was younger but when I tried to pick the series back up in more recent years, I had a hard time getting through Jordan’s tomes. I have a love/hate relationship with the series – I love the characters and the general plot, but Jordan’s love of description and the way he likes to meander with his plots and POVs drove me a little crazy. 🙂 I’m looking forward to watching the series now, though!

    1. Haha I can understand that frustration! Sometimes I have no clue which POV we are following or where we are. But after a while it usually makes sense haha. I’m close to finishing this second one and I will pick up the third with my next Audible credit.

  3. We did the same topic today! Good luck with your ten. I’ve read both SURVIVE THE NIGHT and AS GOOD AS DEAD. I was highly anticipating both and sadly, I didn’t LOVE either. Both are engrossing page turners, but I found them disappointing in one way or another. I hope you enjoy them and all your other reads!

    Happy TTT!

    1. It would be great if we can manage to get through a couple of Netgalley books. Good luck!! And I will share my review on If This Gets Out as soon as I finish it!
