Looking Back at Our Bookhauls| November 2020

It’s that time of month again after we’ve talked about the books we read and received the previous month to look back at our bookhauls from the year before. This is always an interesting post to write, because have we actually read the books we add to our shelves? Today we’ll be looking back at November 2020. So keep on reading to find out how we did!

Candyce

These posts are always a surprise for me, because I don’t always remember what books I got a year ago, haha. In November 2020 I added 8 books to my shelves. I bought 4 of them myself (including an Illumicrate book) and 4 were received at the end of October when I participated in a Halloween swap. Let’s see what books I got in November and what I’ve read so far.

The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue – V.E. Schwab
Read

Okay, so I didn’t read this one until this year, but it was so good. I can honestly say I’ve never read a book like The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue. This is definitely a book I would love to be able to read again for the first time.

Shadows of Winterspell – Amy Wilson
Read

Shadows of Winterspell is a book I read the same month that I bought it. This story was really good and look at that stunning cover. I do have to say I wish that this was a series, because some aspects of this story are definitely left wide open.

Boyfriend Material – Alexis Hall
Unread

Out of all of the books in November I’m the most shocked I haven’t read Boyfriend Material yet. This one is really right up my alley. Also, I recently read Murder Most Actual by Alexis Hall and loved it. I will be bumping this up on my TBR.

Mind the Gap, Dash & Lily – Rachel Cohn & David Levithan
Unread

I bought this one to read in December and I did end up reading it before Christmas last year. I’ve enjoyed all the books in this trilogy so far. Even though I have to say that the first book will always be my favorite. I really need to watch the series on Netflix.

Dead Voices – Katherine Arden
Unread

Another book I’m actually really surprised about. Dead Voices is the second book in this series and I loved Small Spaces. It was such a spooky middle grade story. Last year when I received this I said I’d make it a priority, but that hasn’t happened yet. I really do hope to read this before the winter ends.

The Damned – Renee Ahdieh
Unread

Okay, so before I can read The Damned I still need to read The Beautiful. I’ve been awful about starting this series while it really interests me. The third book is almost out in the world, so it’s time to get moving!

Unravel the Dusk – Elizabeth Lim
Unread

Spin the Dawn was so good. It was a book I just wasn’t expecting in a really positive way! Unravel the Dusk is the second book in this duology. How have I not read this one yet?!? I’m really a broken record today, haha.

The Game – Linsey Miller
Unread

The Game was a book I was actually supposed to read near Halloween this year. I guess that didn’t happen, haha. It’s actually not a really big book, so I’m actually surprised. I’ve been enjoying thrillers, so I need to bump this up on my list.

End Result:
Read: 3/8 – 37.5%
TBR:
5/8 – 62.5%

Isabelle

It might be a bit boring for you all but November 2020 was another month were I didn’t buy any new books! And I have to say, I’m proud of me for that haha. My TBR keeps on growing so the less books I buy the better haha. Maybe next year will be the year I finally end up with a smaller TBR… Because I’ve given up for this year haha.

So that’s our looking back at our bookhauls for this month. Next month may be more exciting, because Christmas tends to mean more books. Have you read any of these books? Let us know in the comments what you thought if you have. We’d love to hear from you!
