We wanted to do another bookish meme on Wednesday and after doing Can’t Wait Wednesday a few times we decided that would be a fun one to bring around more often! About twice a month you’ll see this meme on our blog.
Can’t-Wait Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Wishful Endings, to spotlight and discuss the books we’re excited about that we have yet to read. Generally they’re books that have yet to be released. It’s based on Waiting on Wednesday, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine.
Sequel to the New York Times bestseller Amari and the Night Brothers!
Artemis Fowl meets Men in Black in this magical second book in the New York Times and Indie bestselling Supernatural Investigations trilogy—perfect for fans of Tristan Strong Punches a Hole in the Sky, the Percy Jackson series, and Nevermoor.
After finding her brother and saving the entire supernatural world, Amari Peters is convinced her first full summer as a Junior Agent will be a breeze.
But between the fearsome new Head Minister’s strict anti-magician agenda, fierce Junior Agent rivalries, and her brother Quinton’s curse steadily worsening, Amari’s plate is full. So when the secretive League of Magicians offers her a chance to stand up for magiciankind as its new leader, she declines. She’s got enough to worry about!
But her refusal allows someone else to step forward, a magician with dangerous plans for the League. This challenge sparks the start of the Great Game, a competition to decide who will become the Night Brothers’ successor and determine the future of magiciankind.
The Great Game is both mysterious and deadly, but among the winner’s magical rewards is Quinton’s last hope—so how can Amari refuse?
I was really lucky and had an e-arc for Amari and the Night Brothers. Which meant I had already read this amazing book at the end of last year. This was one of my favorite 2020 reads and an amazing middle grade adventure. Discovering a Bureau for Supernatural Affairs is something a lot of kids would find interesting and this book takes you on a ride.
Well Amari is back in the sequel Amari and the Great Game. Unfortunately we still have a few months to wait, but I’m anxiously awaiting the release of this book. Even though Amari thinks she’s going to have an easy first summer that doesn’t seem to be the case. I can’t wait to see what kind of adventure we’re taken on this time.
So how about you? Is this book on your radar? If not and you like supernatural books with amazing characters I definitely recommend picking up Amari and the Night Brothers. At least you won’t have a long wait for the sequel!
I cant wait for this! I’ve preordered so now the waiting game!!!
I loved Amari and am so excited to continue the series!!
I hope you enjoy this one when you get a chance to read it.
