Mini Reviews | Shadow Me & Defy Me – Tahereh Mafi

When I started reading Defy Me I realized I had forgotten a lot about Restore Me haha. So a friend told me I should really read the novella Shadow Me first and I’m so happy I did. I don’t have that much to say about either story though, so I thought I would do another round of mini reviews.
since these are book 4,5 & 5 in the Shatter Me series, there will be spoilers for the earlier books!

Review| Roar – Cora Carmack

Roar was released in June ’17 and I read it pretty shortly after that. I can remember, because there are little teeth marks in my cover (I had two tiny kittens running around back then, haha). All of the fans have been waiting for a sequel and after the author had some health issues, we’re finally getting the next one.

With Rage releasing soon, this was a perfect time to re-read Roar. It’s been so long, I needed a refresher! Let’s see what I thought the second time around.

Review| White Hot Kiss – Jennifer L. Armentrout

Jennifer L. Armentrout is one of my favorite authors and I’ve read almost all of her books. About five years ago I read The Dark Elements, but only had them as e-books. I personally didn’t like the covers at all! This year they all got a cover change before the first book in the spin-off series was released.

I knew I needed these covers and felt that a reread was a good start before diving into the spin-off. White Hot Kiss is the first book in this trilogy and today I want to tell you what I thought about this book!

Review | Reign of the Fallen – Sarah Glenn Marsh

Last year I got a copy of Reign of the Fallen and really planned on reading it right away. But after reading a couple of pages I somehow put it down in favor of something else. Last month I finally picked it back up and I’m happy I did! So let’s talk about my thoughts on it today.
Candyce already did a review for this one last year, you can find it here

Blog Tour| The King – Jennifer L. Armentrout

Jennifer L. Armentrout is one my favorite authors and I was very excited about her newest release. The Wicked Trilogy was a lot of fun and she’s been spoiling us with a couple of novellas. Last year we got The Prince that left me wanting more. Last week the second novella, The King, was released. A big thanks to the author and Inkslinger PR for providing me an ARC to read and review.

Buddy Review| Nevernight – Jay Kristoff

We’ve both wanted to read Nevernight for quite some time, but just hadn’t taken the time to do so. A buddyread got us going. It’s perfect timing as well, because Darkdawn releases in September. Nevernight is a hyped book, so we were curious if it would live up to our expectations. If you want to see if it did, keep on reading!

Review | Mooncakes – Suzanne Walker & Wendy Xu

Last week I was browsing the Read Now section of Netgalley because I heard there was a book on there I was interested in. I couldn’t find the book, but I did come across Mooncakes by Suzanne Walker and Wendy Xu. And that is actually one of my most anticipated graphic novel releases for the rest of this year. So of course I immediately got a copy and started reading it right away. And today I want to tell you all about it. So let’s dive in! Review | Senlin Ascends – Josiah Bancroft

Senlin Ascends had been on my wishlist for years and years and years. For my last birthday Candyce gifted me this beauty of a book but if I’m being honest, I thought it would take me awhile to actually pick it up. Luckily Melissa also got this one recently so we planned a buddy read! And today I have my review for Senlin Ascends by Josiah Bancroft for you all. Lets dive in! Review| The Parallax – Morgan G. Farris

I was so excited when I heard the next installment of The Chalam Faerytales would be released. This series has definitely earned a spot on my list of favorite series. The Promised One and The Purloined Prophecy were amazing (click on the links to read my reviews). The Parallax released this week and I’m excited to tell you about it.

A big thanks to the author for providing me with an ARC to read and review. She’s amazing, so I really recommend checking these out!

Review| Underwater – Anna B. Doe

It’s officially summer and what’s the perfect type of book to read? I’d say books about mermaids! Underwater looked like an amazing summer read with a beautiful cover. This book released yesterday, so is available to read now. A big thanks to the author for providing me with an ARC to read and review.
