We have been having fun with Top Ten Tuesday, so we decided we will do one every week. This bookish meme was hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, and has been going since June 2010! Since January 2018 Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.
This week’s topic is Ten Most Recent Books I Did Not Finish. And I have to say, I’m not really a DNF’er so this is a bit of a harder one for me. However, I do put down books in favor of other ones all the time! So these will be ten books I haven’t finished YET ;). Let’s take a look!
Five Dark Fates – Kendare Blake
King’s Cage – Victoria Aveyard
Godsgrave – Jay Kristoff
Wildcard – Marie Lu
Bloodwitch -Susan Dennard
Today’s list looks a little bit different but I figured I had to say basically the same thing for every single book on this list and that would be pretty boring. 8 out of these 10 books are sequels in a series. And some of them I was already half way through. For some reason or another I but the book down in favor of something else and sometimes I have picked it up again but none of these I have finished. I do plan on finishing all of them, they’re all in series I really enjoyed and I would love to know how those stories end.
A Girl Called Shameless – Laura Steven
The Cousins – Karen McManus
I Am Margaret Moore – Hannah Capin
The Righteous – Renée Ahdieh
Archenemenies – Marissa Meyer
Two of these books aren’t sequels, but they are books by authors I have previously enjoyed. And I also enjoyed what I did read of them so far. But I simply haven’t finished the books yet. There is so much to read and I’m definitely a mood reader, so sometimes you’re just in the mood for something else!

What did you think of my take on the prompt? Do you DNF books? And which one of my picks should I continue reading first? Let me know in the comments!
Yeah sometimes you start someting, continue and it just isn’t feeling right. I have that with a Nora Roberts series at the moment. Not sure if I’ll be picking that back up though. We’ll have to see haha.

I struggle with sequels a lot, too.
Here is my Top Ten Tuesday post.
Definitely feel the mood reading thing. I didn’t have 10 for today’s topic but a couple of them that I did DNF, it just didn’t feel like the right time to be reading it for various reasons.

Kings Cage is one I didn’t read because I should have DNF’d the second book in the series. I was underwhelmed by that one. I did like The Cousins, so I’m sorry you didn’t.
I Am Margaret Moore was definitely a disappointing one for me, though I did finish it (by force of will…). It was a big change from how much I’ve enjoyed the author’s other works. Just didn’t catch me, either I guess!

I occasionally set aside books for later instead of DNFing them totally. Sometimes, the timing just doesn’t work or my mood isn’t right for a particular book.
Happy TTT!

I stopped reading the Red Queen series after Glass Sword because I hated that one so much and struggled to get to the end of it, so I certainly wasn’t willing to read anymore after that point! I liked Bloodwitch, though I will admit, as much as I enjoy the characters in the Witchlands, I do find the plot and the worldbuilding kind of confusing. A Girl Called Shameless I liked, but it wasn’t as good as the first book in that duology for me.

Now that I see it on your list, I remember that I also DNF-ed The Cousins, but it was so soon after starting it that it didn’t even make it to my Goodreads, therefore not on my DNF list. Happy reading! My TTT https://readwithstefani.com/10-books-i-recently-marked-as-did-not-finish/
