We have been having fun with Top Ten Tuesday, so we decided we will do one every week. This bookish meme was hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, and has been going since June 2010! Since January 2018 Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.
This week’s topic is most anticipated books releasing during the second half of 2023. There are always so many releases that sound truly amazing, so only picking ten is going to be a challenge. Here they are in no particular order. Let’s give it a go!
Fall of Ruin and Wrath – Jennifer L. Armentrout (September 12th)
Jennifer L. Armentrout is an auto-buy/read author for me and Fall of Ruin and Wrath is her next fantasy romance series. This seems to be an enemies-to-lovers slow burn romance and Armentrout is amazing with stories like these. I was lucky and received an eARC, so I will making time for this one soon.
It’s Not a Cult – Lauren Danhof (August 22nd)
I have a feeling It’s Not a Cult is going to be a wild ride. Our main character has to save her mother from a dangerous cult. I’ve seen a couple of authors I follow promote this and I’m so curious about this book!
The Hurricane Wars – Thea Guanzon (October 3rd)
The first few words of the synopsis had me hooked: “The fates of two bitter enemies with opposing magical abilities are swept together”. I now need to know more about this fantasy romance coming our way later this year. The Hurricane Wars is the start of a trilogy, so I have a feeling we’ll be given a cliffhanger.
Betting On You – Lynn Painter (November 28th)
Lynn Painter is another author I’ve loved everything I’ve read by so far. She’s written amazing YA books as well as adult romances. Betting On You is the next one and I’m here for it. All I needed to know about this rom-com is that it’s in the same category as She’s All That and 10 Things I Hate About You. I loved both of those movies.
The Scarlet Veil – Shelby Mahurin (September 26th)
I haven’t finished the Serpent & Dove series yet, but The Scarlet Veil sounds like something I love. A thrilling vampire romance? Yes, please! Perfect kind of book for a dark and rainy evening.
Suddenly a Murder – Lauren Muñoz (September 5th)
Friends throw a 1920s themed party and things go well until someone is murdered. I’ve been wanting to read more mysteries, so I had to add Suddenly a Murder to my list. Locked-room mysteries are always so intense and I can’t wait to see how this one plays out.
Check & Mate – Ali Hazelwood (November 7th)
Ali Hazelwood has written a few adult romances that I love, so I’m excited to read Ali’s YA book Check & Mate. I also love that the main characters are rival chess players. Not something I’ve read before.
My Roommate Is a Vampire – Jenna Levine (August 15th)
After reading the title and seeing the cover for My Roommate Is a Vampire, I was already sold before even knowing what this book was about. Our main character knows her cheap apartment is too good to be true and finds out why when she starts living with her quirky roommate. This book sounds like so much fun!
Iris Kelly Doesn’t Date – Ashley Herring Blake (October 24th)
Ashley Herring Blake has stolen my heart with the first two books in the Bright Falls series and I’ve been so excited about Iris’ books. We met Iris in the previous books and read about her relationships that haven’t always gone well. I’m excited to see Iris get her happily ever after.
Bookshops & Bonedust – Travis Baldree (November 7th)
Legends & Lattes was such a fun book and I was very excited when Bookshops & Bonedust was announced. The fact that there’s a bookshop makes me think it’s going to be amazing. This cozy book will be perfect for a rainy day!
