We have been having fun with Top Ten Tuesday, so we decided we will do one every week. This bookish meme was hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, and has been going since June 2010! Since January 2018 Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.
This week’s topic is Books with Names/Character Names In the Titles. A fun topic! I liked trying to come up with books before looking at my shelves haha. And I did think of a couple so that was a proud moment. Let’s see which books I picked today!
1.Eliza and her Monsters – Franscecsa Zappia
This was the first book that came to mind! I loved Eliza, it was a pretty emotional read but it was so good. It got quite some hype when it released but I haven’t heard many people talk about it since then. Hope Francesca Zappia’s next book will be another hit!
2. Alice – Christina Henry
I think this might be the only book on this list that I haven’t read yet. Recently I have talked about it a couple of times and I actually do plan on reading it soonish, at least this year. I read the first chapter and enjoyed it more than I thought I would.
3. Sadie – Courtney Summers
This book…. Such a heartbreaking story! I listened to this on audio and I would highly recommend doing so if you’re able to. Since this has parts of a podcast in it, it is perfect to listen to it. I thought they did a great job with that!
4. Simon vs The Homo Sapiens Agenda – Becky Albertalli
It’s been so long since I read this one! But I do remember the movie clearly and love the spin-off as well. It all started with this book but the Simonverse has grown a lot! And I would still recommend this book to everyone.
5. The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo – Taylor Jenkins Reid
Of course I had to include Evelyn Hugo haha. I really enjoyed the book, but I do also get that it had quite some flaws and maybe not the best representation. Overall I really liked the story, the reveals and the writing style.
6. The Seven and a Half Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle – Stuart Turton
This is such a good book! And it isn’t talked about nearly enough. I loved this book so so much. It’s an amazing mystery with a really cool reveal. It would be so cool if the author wrote more books like this one!
7. The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue – V.E. Schwab
One of my favorite books from the last couple of years! I adore V.E. Schwab as a human and as a writer and this might be my favorite book of hers. Addie is an interesting character, I loved reading about the different points in time and that ending was just HAGHASDHJKDHSAE.
8. The Disreputable History of Frankie Landau-Banks – E. Lockhart
It’s been years since I read this book but I remember enjoying it a lot! And ever since I want to have a daughter and name her Frankie haha. Love the name so much. I don’t remember that much about the books, just that it was fun!
9. Always and Forever, Lara Jean – Jenny Han
This will remain one of my favorite YA contemporary series ever! I adore the movies as well and maybe that will be just what I’ll be doing on Valentines Day haha. But yes, never miss an opportunity to talk about this series.
10. The Trials of Morrigan Crow – Jessica Townsend
This series is wonderful! And writing about it makes me realise I really need to read the third book soon haha. Book 4 will release towards the end of this year so I guess I’ll have until then to read Hollowpox. Can’t wait to see what Morrigan Crow is up to next.
