Bookhaul | January 2022

Even though January went by slow and fast at the same time it’s hard to believe it’s already time to do our first bookhaul of the year! Have we added any books to our shelves this month? If we did, what books did we get? Keep on reading to find out!

After reorganizing my shelves before the end of the year I realized that I really don’t have much room left (and that’s after putting quite a few books in the attic and making a few piles of books to sell, haha). So I really want to be more conscious of what I get physically. In January I did add 4 books to my shelves. Let’s see what they are!

Here’s to Us – Becky Albertalli & Adam Silvera

When Here’s to Us was announced I was hoping it would motivate me to read What If It’s Us before this one released. It didn’t, haha. I’m now planning on reading both in February. I love a good contemporary and I know Isabelle thought the first one was cute. They both seem like my type of books.

Ice Planet Barbarians – Ruby Dixon

If you’ve been in the bookish community I highly doubt you haven’t heard of Ice Planet Barbarians. It’s nothing like I normally read, but after all the hype I’m just really curious. It does help that Berkley gave the first two books special edition covers that look a lot better than the original (in my opinion). That definitely motivated me even more to give it a try. I need to read this soon.

Yes & I Love You – Roni Loren

Roni Loren is an author I’ve heard amazing things about and I was supposed to read Yes & I Love You for a group read last year. I ended up getting distracted by other books, but it’s still one I really want to read. I did start reading the e-book and did enjoy what I had read.

What If You & Me – Roni Loren

What If You & Me is the second book in Say Everything series and another one I really want to read. I know these books can be read out of order, but I like noticing the cameos and other hints from previous books.

My main goal this year is to lower my TBR so I try to be a bit more mindful of which books I’m buying. Usually this gets harder during the year but this first month I held firm! Even though I have a gift card, I haven’t bought a book yet this month. Let’s see how long I can keep up with not buying any books haha.

So that’s our January bookhaul! Have you read any of these? Or did you get any new books you want to tell us about this month? Let us know in the comments! We’d love to hear from you!
