We have been having fun with Top Ten Tuesday, so we decided we will do one every week. This bookish meme was hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, and has been going since June 2010! Since January 2018 Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.
This week’s topic is Most Anticipated Releases of the Second Half of 2021. There are a lot of amazing sounding books releasing in the second half of 2021. Way more than 10, haha. So I’ll talk about ten that I really want to read.
These Hollow Vows – Lexi Ryan (Releases July 20th)
These Hollow Vows is pitched as Cruel Prince meets A Court of Thorns and Roses. I enjoyed both, so I need this book. Our main character is caught between two treacherous faerie courts. I have a feeling things are going to get very interesting.
How We Fall Apart – Katie Zhao (Releases August 3rd)
A YA thriller pitched as Crazy Rich Asians meets One of Us is Lying. That’s definitely something I need to read. Add one of my favorite settings, an elite prep school, and I’m sold.
Dark and Shallow Lies – Ginny Myers Sain (Releases August 31st)
Okay, this is really the year of stunning covers, because look at the cover for Dark and Shallow Lies. This supernatural thriller sounds spooky and dark and everything I want. A girl goes missing and I have a feeling this will be an interesting ride.
The Hawthorne Legacy – Jennifer Lynn Barnes (Releases September 16th)
The Inheritance Games was one of my favorite books last year and I’ve been impatiently waiting for the sequel. We only have a couple of months to go and I’m curious to see what’s going on with the Hawthorne family.
White Smoke – Tiffany D. Jackson (Releases September 14th)
White Smoke is a book I talked about on the blog a couple of times recently, so I couldn’t leave it off of this top ten Tuesday list. I haven’t read anything by this author yet, but have been wanting to for quite some time. A psychological thriller and a modern take on the classic haunted house stories? Yes please!
Lies My Memory Told Me – Sacha Wunsch (Releases October 19th)
Lies My Memory Told Me sounds like the perfect book to curl up with on a dark and rainy day. Can you imagine sharing your memories with other people? Even though that could open up a whole new world I can’t imagine that there aren’t any risks.
You Can Go Your Own Way – Eric Smith (Releases November 2nd)
As a fan of a good contemporary You Can Go Your Own Way really stuck out to me. Besides the amazing cover the story sounds amazing. The two main characters that are both dealing with some difficult things in their life get trapped in an arcade during a snow storm. I don’t think I’ve ever read a story like this and I enjoyed the author’s previous book.
Going Viral: A Socially Distant Love Story –
(Releases November 2nd)Okay, so I have to say I’m still a bit iffy on reading a story that has to do with the pandemic (it’s still a touchy subject), but Going Viral sounds like such a cute story! I mean if it has to do with this difficult time for a lot of people at least it’s a love story that goes viral right?!?
The Coldest Touch – Isabel Sterling (Releases December 7th)
These Witches Don’t Burn was a fun read, so I was excited to see the author was releasing The Coldest Touch. The main characters are a vampire and someone who sees how her loved ones will die through touch. Add a killer stalking the streets and this seems like it will be an interesting story.
If This Gets Out – Sophie Gonzales & Cale Dietrich (Releases December 7th)
As a big fan of boy bands when I was a teenager If This Gets Out really caught my attention. I can’t imagine the pressure you feel when in the spotlights especially if the ones closest to you won’t support what you really need. This gets complicated when two of the band members fall in love. Sounds like my type of book!
