We have been having fun with Top Ten Tuesday, so we decided we will do one every week. This bookish meme was hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, and has been going since June 2010! Since January 2018 Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.
This week’s topic is Titles or Covers That Made Want to Read/Buy the Book. I decided to go with covers that made me want to buy the book. There were definitely times when I bought books based on the covers haha. Let’s check some of them out!
1.The Surface Breaks – Louise O’Neill
Can you blame me for this cover buy? This is gorgeous! After having my heart broken by Louise I haven’t been able to read another one of her books though. I felt so hopeless after reading Only Ever Yours and I don’t expect a good feeling after reading this one either haha.
2. The City of Brass – S.A. Chakraborty
I love both covers for this book! And when I saw someone selling the first two books in the series I just had to get them. Unfortunately I haven’t read them yet but I have really high hopes! And until then they look great on my shelves <3.
3. Spellslinger – Sebastian de Castell
I adore this cover! The colors, the design, the details, I just love it. Unfortunately I haven’t read this one yet but I think I will really enjoy it. And if I do and I can finally buy the rest of the series haha.
4. Strange the Dreamer – Laini Taylor
This cover is one of my favorites! In person it’s even more beautiful. I love Laini’s UK covers for her first series and I’m glad I got this book in this specific edition. Unfortunately this is another one I haven’t read yet haha. I do plan on reading it eventually but I want to finish the other series first!
5. Furthermore – Tahereh Mafi
To be honest, the cover is mostly the reason I still own this. I love this cover and the cover for the companion novel Whichwood. And those covers are the reason I bought both books. But I didn’t like what I read so far and Tahereh’s books seem to be a hit or miss for me. So I might unhaul these at some point….
6. Black-Eyed Susans – Julia Heaberlin
This book is coming up quite often recently haha. Maybe that’s a sign I should read it finally. I really liked this cover and I believe I bought the book without even looking what it was about. Just knowing it was a thriller was enough haha.
7. Warcross – Marie Lu
It was especially the naked hardback that convinced me to buy this book. A couple of my friends got this edition and showed me the gorgeous naked hardback. The book was pretty cheap and I just had to have the book haha! I also really enjoyed the story luckily.
8. Lady Midnight – Cassandra Clare
I wanted to wait to get the paperbacks that match the rest of my shadow hunter books but I just couldn’t resist this gorgeous cover! And now I have a mismatch of shadow hunter books haha. I was debating to sell this one as you could get quite some money for it at some point but I also really like having this in my collection.
9. Firstlife – Gena Showalter
This cover is gorgeous!! I was so happy to own this one. Unfortunately I really didn’t like the book haha. After this one I also started reading the Alice in Zombieland series by Gena but that was another disappointment. I guess we can say Gena is not the author for me haha.
10. The Sin Eater’s Daughter – Melinda Salisbury
I remember seeing this book in the bookstore. The cover grabbed my attention immediately! The longer you look at the book the more details you see. While the book and the rest of the series wasn’t exactly what I was expecting I did really enjoy it.

Great list of books! I really prefer the hardcover version of Warcross to the paperback (which I recently picked up for my husband).
