We have been having fun with Top Ten Tuesday, so we decided we will do one every week. This bookish meme was hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, and has been going since June 2010! Since January 2018 Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.
This week’s topic is Reasons I Love Reading but I decided to do a part two to Candyce’s topic last week. So today I want to talk about my most anticipated releases of the second half of 2021! Let’s dive in.
1. The Last Graduate – Naomi Novik
I adored A Deadly Education when I read it at the start of this year. It might actually be one of my favorite books so far. And the ending was -AAAAAAAAAH- so I can’t wait for the sequel. You can bet I will read this as soon as it releases because I need to know more.
2. The Hawthorne Legacy – Jennifer Lynn Barnes
Another one I will read as soon as it releases. This is the only book that was also on Candyce’s list last week but I just had to include it. The first book in this series (duology?), The Inheritance Games was one of my favorite 2020 reads and it also had an unexpected ending. I loved it so much and I can’t wait to see where the story goes next.
3. Any Way the Wind Blows – Rainbow Rowell
This will be the last book in the Simon Snow series and I’m very excited for it. I really liked the inclusion of Simon Snow in Fangirl and have been enjoying the series ever since. These covers are also gorgeous!
4. The Righteous – Renee Ahdieh
Yesterday I finished The Damned and oh damn! I want The Righteous right now! The second book started quite slow but when I was half way through I had trouble putting it down. It was so good and exciting. Hopefully this third book will start off strong and stay exciting throughout.
5. As Good As Dead – Holly Jackson
The first two books (and the prequel novella) in this series were amazing!! I loved them and read them super quickly. So you can imagine I am very excited for the sequel. The first books were also on my favorite list and I just have very high hopes.
6. Empire of the Vampire – Jay Kristoff
This is one of the only books I preordered. I love Jay Kristoff’s writing and worlds and I’m very excited for this one. Vampires are definitely back and I’m sure this will be very dark. The special edition I ordered looks beautiful and I can’t wait to have it in my hands.
7. All These Bodies – Kendare Blake
A historical fiction with vampires, we already know I love that ;). And this has a bit of a murder mystery with our MC as the main suspect. I think this might be a great read and I also really like Kendare’s writing and story telling.
8. All Of Us Villains – Amanda Foody
This one sounds so good!!! You Fell In Love With The Victors of The Hunger Games.
Now Prepare To Meet The Villains of The Blood Veil. Do I really need to say anything else? These two lines totally sold the book to me haha. Hopefully it’s as good as I think it will be!
9. I Am Margaret Moore – Hannah Capin
I loved Hannah’s last book and I enjoyed the one before that as well. This newest book sounds really interesting as well. Foul is Fair was one of my favorite books last year and I hope this is going to be a favorite as well. Hannah writes pretty dark stories and I love it.
10. The Heart Principle – Helen Hoang
While this isn’t my usual genre, I do love these books Helen Hoang wrote. The first two book were interesting and hot ;). And I’m very excited for the main character in this third book!
