We have been having fun with Top Ten Tuesday, so we decided we will do one every week. This bookish meme was hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, and has been going since June 2010! Since January 2018 Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.
This week’s topic is a freebie, so I get to choose my own topic. That isn’t always an easy task, haha. I’ve really been enjoying thrillers/mysteries and darker books, so here are ten YA thrillers I want to read soon!
Little Creeping Things – Chelsea Ichaso
Little Creeping Things has been on my shelf since a little while after it released last June. It’s just time for me to pick this up. I’ve heard some great things about it. This author has a new book releasing soon, so I’m hoping to read this one before that.
The Game – Linsey Miller
The Game isn’t even 300 pages, so if I sit down for the evening I should be able to read this one. A game the senior class plays each year turns deadly. Definitely an interesting concept and I wonder if I can figure out who is behind everything.
The Obsession – Jesse Q. Sutanto
At the moment I’m read this author’s other book, Dial A for Aunties, and it couldn’t be more different than The Obsession. This sounds like a very twisted story and I can’t wait to dive in.
The Ivies – Alexa Donne
The Ivies sounds like a book that will have me hooked and won’t let go. Trying to eliminate others to get into the best colleges? That doesn’t sound like it’s going to go well. I can’t wait to read how the author has this play out.
Scared Little Rabbits – A.V. Geiger
The Follow Me Back duology was so good and left me wanting more. Scared Little Rabbits is the author’s next book and sounds creepy. I’ve heard some mixed reviews, but I still want to read it myself. A student goes missing and all clues lead back to the main character. But did she do it?
They Wish They Were Us – Jessica Goodman
A murder mystery set at an exclusive prep school? Yes, please! It has a setting I love and I can’t wait to see if I can solve who did it before the big reveal. This author has another book releasing later this year, so its’ time to read this one.
The Girls I’ve Been – Tess Sharpe
A daughter of a con artist is taken hostage during a bank robbery. That’s definitely an interesting concept. A few of my friends have read this and I’ve heard nothing but amazing things about this book. I actually just bought it in May, so I will hopefully read it soon.
I Am Margaret Moore – Hannah Capin
I Am Margaret Moore doesn’t release until October, but I got lucky and have an e-arc. I haven’t read many paranormal thrillers, so I have to say I’m curious. It takes place at some type of school and sounds like the perfect book for Halloween.
Don’t Breathe a Word – Jordyn Taylor
Once again I was sold on the fact that this book takes place at a boarding school with an elite society. Don’t Breathe a Word has two timelines and I can’t wait to see how they mix together to uncover the school’s secrets.
Ace of Spades – Faridah Àbíké-Íyímídé
Ace of Spades actually releases today and it’s one of my anticipated releases of 2021! Another thriller that takes place at an elite school, but in this case students’ dark secrets are leaked. This is another one that I’ve heard nothing but amazing things about and I’m really excited to read it.

I’ve never heard of most of these! Thanks for introducing them. The elite prep school setting seems popular, and Ace of Spades looks great!
