TTT# 167| Books I Meant to Read In 2020 but Didn’t Get To Part 1

We have been having fun with Top Ten Tuesday, so we decided we will do one every week. This bookish meme was hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, and has been going since June 2010! Since January 2018 Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.

This week’s topic is Resolutions/Hopes for 2021. We already posted our 2021 reading goals, so I decided to get a head start on next week’s topic. So today will be part 1 of Books I Meant to Read In 2020 but Didn’t Get To. Keep on reading to see what I still need to read!

Chain of Gold – Cassandra Clare

I think I’ve talked about this one a few times in 2020 (just like most of the books on this list), but I still haven’t read it. The Shadowhunters world is one of my favorites and I was really looking forward to the start of this series. The sequel is releasing in a couple of months, so I have to get started soon.

The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue – V.E. Schwab

As I’m typing this, I’m actually already 30% into this book. Unfortunately, I tend to get distracted at times and read way too many books at once. I loved what I read so far and really need to see how this story ends.

Kingdom of Ash – Sarah J. Maas

I’m ashamed to say I still haven’t finished this series yet. Part of me just doesn’t want it to be over, but I need to know how it plays out as well. With the next book releasing in the ACOTAR series, I need to be caught up on the author’s other books.

A Heart So Fierce and Broken – Brigid Kemmerer

After loving A Curse So Dark and Lonely so much, I’m shocked I haven’t read this one yet. I know it’s from a different POV and there have been some mixed reviews. It still really interests me though and the final book in the trilogy will be out in a couple of weeks.

Mexican Gothic – Silvia Moreno-Garcia

Mexican Gothic sounds like a dark, but really interesting book. I wanted to read this around Halloween last yer, but didn’t get to it. I’m still debating if I want to read this one sooner or wait until Halloween again.

Cemetery Boys – Aiden Thomas

Cemetery Boys is another book I’ve heard nothing but amazing things about. I was going to read it when it was released, but my copy too quite awhile to arrive. This is on my January TBR, so hopefully I can say I’ve read this at the end of the month.

Unravel the Dusk  – Elizabeth Lim

Spin the Dawn was a book that really surprised me last year and I received Unravel the Dusk at the end of October. I have a feeling this is going to be another fast and fun read. I’ll have to make it a priority soon.

Cinderella is Dead – Kalynn Bayron

I haven’t really read any Cinderella retellings and was planning on starting with this one. The cover is stunning and I’ve heard amazing things about it! I’ll be putting this one on my TBR really soon hopefully.

Rebel Spy – Veronica Rossi

This is another book I’ve mentioned on the blog quite a few times and still haven’t gotten around to. That’s another reason why I’m concentrating on backlist books this year. I have a feeling I’m going to really enjoy this one.

Dance of Thieves – Mary E. Pearson

After finishing The Remnant Chronicles I was really looking forward to reading this spinoff. The duology is complete, but I still need to start the first book. I actually bought this to participate in a group read, but ended up not having time to fit it in!

This is my top 10 for this week. Believe me when I say this is nowhere near all of the books I meant to read in 2020. There are so many more. What books did you mean to read last year, but didn’t get to? Let me know in the comments and feel free to leave your links! I’d love to hear from you.

  1. I also really want to read Mexican Gothic this year! And Chain of Gold was one of my favourite reads of 2020–I hope you enjoy it when you get to it!
