We have been having fun with Top Ten Tuesday, so we decided we will do one every week. This bookish meme was hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, and has been going since June 2010! Since January 2018 Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.
This week’s topic is Most Anticipated Releases for the First Half of 2021. Candyce already did a post on this last week, you can find that one here. Today I will share my most anticipated releases! I picked 10 other books then Candyce so we can share more amazing books haha. Let’s jump in!
1.Lore – Alexandra Bracken
January 5th 2021
I’m so excited for this mythology book! Alexandra is an amazing person and I love her books. I still need to read a couple of her books but Im already looking forward to this one. Nine gods are forced to walk the earth as mortals and are hunted by descendants of ancient bloodlines. It sounds so cool and I hope it’s brutal ;).
2. Across the Green Grass Fields – Seanan McGuire
January 12th 2021
This is the newest installment in one of my favorite series so I’m so excited for it. And to make it even more exciting, in this book we are visiting an equine world. You might know that I love horses, and I spend a lot of time of my days in the stables, so reading about horses is perfect to me!
3. Bridge of Souls – Victoria Schwab
March 2nd 2021
Victoria Schwab is one my favorite writers and I’m always looking forward to her newest books. This is the third book in her MG series and I adore the first two books. Hopefully this one is just as good! The first two are super atmospheric and the second ended with quite the twist.
4. Dial A for Aunties – Jesse Q Sutanto
April 27th 2021
First off, I love this title. And the first part of synopsis totally sold me. Equal parts murder mystery, rom-com, and a celebration of mothers and daughters as well as a deep dive into Chinese-Indonesian culture. Count me in!! Meddy accidentally kills her blind date and asks her aunties to help her dispose of the body. I want it now!
5.The End of Men – Christina Sweeney-Baird
April 27th 2021
I actually have an eARC for this one and I plan on reading it before it releases. This one is about a virus that only affects the male population. Such an interesting concept and I think it could potentially be a very cool read. Also, don’t we all wish this every now and then ;).
6. Realm Breaker – Victoria Aveyard
May 4th 2021
I loved the first Victoria Aveyard I ever read. And while the next was disappointing and I have been scared to pick up the rest, I am excited for this one. Now is not the age of heroes, but courage can bloom even in the darkest corners. I think that sentence sounds really cool and I hope to find that magic from my first Victoria Aveyard read!
7. Arsenic and Adobo – Mia P. Manansala
May 4th 2021
This is a cozy mystery (also with aunties) and it sounds wonderful. Do you see that cute dog on the cover? Lila’s ex-boyfriend who’s also a for critic drops dead right after a confrontation with her. Of course she’s the main suspect and I can’t wait to find out who did it!
8. 10 Truths and a Dare – Ashley Elston
May 4th 2021
At this point there is no cover revealed but I have hope this book does come out this May. It’s a companion novel for Ten Blind Dates and that was one of my favorite reads of 2019. I’m super excited for this one and I can’t wait to read from Olivia’s POV.
9. Heartstopper vol. 4 – Alice Oseman
May 13th 2021
This is one of my favorite graphic novel series and I can’t wait for the next volume. I know I can read it online but I love getting a physical copy. And I don’t want to spoil the story for myself by reading it online first. It’s also nicer for my eyes to read it on paper.
10. My Contrary Mary – Cynthia Hand, Brodi Ashton & Jodi Meadows
June 22nd 2021
The first book in the Mary series! I can’t wait for this one and I’m super excited we’re getting the first one this year already. To be honest I was expecting we had to wait another year. This takes place in the same universe as My Lady Jane and I couldn’t be more excited!

This is my top 10 for this week! I loved looking at all the upcoming releases I had already saved. And talking about them makes me even more excited. It was pretty difficult only talking about 10 even though Candyce already mentioned a couple of them. Let’s hope they all live up to my expectations! What is your most anticipated release for the first half of 2021?
My most anticipated release for 2021 must be Heartstopper volume 4! ?
Lore is on my TBR as well. Cannot wait!
Ooooh! I love the cover of Bridge of Souls!!
Dial A for Aunties does sound interesting.
Here is our Top Ten Tuesday.
I’m really looking forward to Bridge of Souls, for the same reason! After the way the second one ended, I can hardly wait for the third book to come out! I haven’t read The Janies series yet, but I’m really looking forward to My Contrary Mary and starting a new series with the authors, because so many people seem to have liked the other one! I figure, it’ll be a good introduction to the authors, picking them up with a new series. ?
