Jennifer L. Armentrout is one of my favorite authors and I’ve read almost all of her books (there are still a few I need to get to, but I’m working on it). So when I heard she had a surprise book, I knew I needed to get my hands on it! From Blood and Ash is the start of the Blood and Ash series and her first high fantasy series. I’ve seen the Wayward Children books all over the place in the bookish community and thought the covers were stunning. For some reason, I never got around to picking them up, even though I wanted to. A friend of mine and the creator of the TBR & Beyond group set up a group read for this series. Every Heart a Doorway is the first book and I’m mad at myself for not picking up this book sooner! Bookish friends are the best and even more so when they write books that you love. A really good friend of mine wrote her first book last year, Crown of Conspiracy, and I loved it. I’m a bad friend, because I still need to write that review, but that will change in the near future. The second book, Dance of Despair, came out at the end of February and it was so good.
This is a sequel, so I’ll do my best to give you all of my thoughts without any spoilers. I want you to be able to read the first book and experience all the feels before diving into this one. So let’s take a look at my review!
