We have been having fun with Top Ten Tuesday, so we decided we will do one every week. This bookish meme was hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, and has been going since June 2010! Since January 2018 Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.
This week’s topic is things that instantly make me not want to read a book. I’m not really feeling this topic, so I’m going to do next week’s. So today I’m talking about book covers that feel like summer. Let’s take a look!
That Summer Feeling – Bridget Morrissey
So the title even has summer in it, but this cover screams summer to me. I love the idea for a sleepaway camp for adults. We all could use some time to be like kids again!
Imogen, Obviously – Becky Albertalli
The cover for Imogen, Obviously is so colorful and bright that it screams summer vibes. For some reason I seem to read books by Becky Albertalli during the summer, so I’d say that’s a perfect fit.
Going Bicoastal – Dahlia Adler
Another cover that’s very vibrant! Going Bicoastal also takes place during the summer, so another perfect match. I love books that take place in alternating timelines. It seems like our main character needs to figure out what she really wants. This book doesn’t release until June 13th, but I have an eARC I hope to read soon.
Seven Rules for Breaking Hearts – Kristyn J. Miller
No summer would be completely without a visit to a beach or some body of water, so this cover is perfect for the season. Even though I don’t listen to podcasts myself, I love books that mention them or have characters who have their own like in Seven Rules for Breaking Hearts. Our main character decides to break all of her dating rules just to show everyone how bad it can be. We all know this is going to backfire, haha.
Meet Me at the Lake – Carley Fortune
Like I just said, a summer isn’t complete without a visit to the beach or a body of water. So the lake is another great option. I love the colors on this cover. Hopefully the story is just as amazing as the cover.
The True Love Experiment – Christina Lauren
I’m really seeing a theme here with book covers lately! Another cover with the beach! The True Love Experiment also involves finding love on camera and for some reason I associate the summer with reality TV. Fizzy is a character I loved in The Soulmate Equation, so I’m hoping I love her book just as much.
Things We Hide from the Light – Lucy Score
Bright colors are something we also see a lot of in the summer as well as flowers. I love how simple this cover is and that’s what makes it so pretty. After loving Things We Never Get Over, so I’m really looking forward to picking up Things We Hide From the Light (I should’ve done this already, haha).
Summer Reading – Jenn McKinlay
Another cover at the beach! I honestly want to pick up all of the books I’m talking about today. Especially seeing how our male main character is the bookworm in this story. I don’t see that often.
Midnight Kisses – Jeanine Bennedict
Another pastel cover with flowers! I’ve been loving the covers we’ve been seeing the last couple of years. For some reason I also associate sports romances with the summer time. Midnight Kisses is almost 600 pages, so it’ll keep me busy for a bit.
People We Meet On Vacation – Emily Henry
Vacation and summer go hand in hand and the cover is also very colorful. People We Meet on Vacation is the only Emily Henry book that I haven’t read yet and I’m hoping to change that this summer.

These covers are all so colorful and summery! Nothing says summer to me more than being beside a sparkling body of water, natural or otherwise. We’ve been swimming in our pool all week and it’s been lovely ????
Happy TTT!
