TTT #287| The First 10 Books I Randomly Grabbed from My Shelf

We have been having fun with Top Ten Tuesday, so we decided we will do one every week. This bookish meme was hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, and has been going since June 2010! Since January 2018 Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.

This week’s topic is The First 10 Books I Randomly Grabbed from My Shelf. Okay, this sounds simple, but I’m just not good at stuff like this, haha. So I’m going to change it a little bit and make it ten random books I want to read really soon. Quite a few have been popping in my head that I really want to read soon.

A Darker Shade of Magic – V.E. Schwab

So I read this book six years ago, but never continued with the trilogy. That seems to be the story of my life honestly, haha. I remember loving it and with the spinoff series releasing later this year it’s time to finally tackle these books.

Re-Coil – J.T. Nicholas

Re-Coil isn’t the most random pick in this post, because it’s the next book we’re reading for my in person book club. I love the concept though. Apparently your mind can be loaded into a new body. That’s such a weird concept.

The Crown of Gilded Bones – Jennifer L. Armentrout

I’m so behind on this series and I was loving it, so it’s time for me to catch up. The Crown of Gilded Bones has gotten some mixed reviews, but I’m excited to finally see what I think of how this story continues. Two books are releasing this year, so I need to get going.

The Agathas – Kathleen Glasgow & Liz Lawson

The Agathas is a YA mystery and one I started when it first released. In May the next book in the series releases and I want to catch up, because I have an eARC of The Night in Questions. I’ve been in a mystery/thriller mood lately, so this one seems to be a great choice.

A Lady’s Guide to Fortune-Hunting – Sophie Irwin

I have a really pretty edition of this book and when I recently saw how pretty the physical ARC of the sequel looks pretty and reminded me I need to pick up A Lady’s Guide to Fortune-Hunting. Our main character needs a husband with a fortune to save herself and I have a feeling it’s going to be an interesting tale.

Regretting You – Colleen Hoover

A friend of mine recently read Regretting You and loved it! This reminded me that I still haven’t read this book myself. I’m thinking about starting the audiobook after finishing the one I’m currently listening to. Regretting You seems to be a book about a mother/daughter relationship that’s having a rough time. I have a feeling it’s going to be an emotional read.

Tell Me What Really Happened – Chelsea Sedoti

Technically I have this book digitally, but I still see it as on my shelf. Tell Me What Really Happened is told through first person police interviews. As a big fan of books told through interviews, emails, texts, etc. I knew I needed to pick it up soon. I wonder if I’ll be able to solve the mystery.

Hide – Kiersten White

Hide was a book I bought to read for a group read near Halloween. I didn’t end up being able to read it on time, but the concept of spending a week hiding in an abandoned amusement park is interesting. We’re heading to the summer season and that’s when I think of amusement parks more. It’s a short read, so I can probably finish it in one sitting.

Solitaire – Alice Oseman

The release date of the final volume of Heartstopper was announced and that reminded me that I have Solitaire. Charlie’s sister is a character I got curious about after how she stood up for him in Heartstopper. Tori is an interesting character and I want to know more about her.

Everyone in My Family Has Killed Someone – Benjamin Stevenson

While watching booktube last week I saw someone reading this book and it sounded really good. There were some sentences read that made me laugh and I have a feeling this is a book I won’t want to put down.
