I don’t know what it is lately, but I’ve really been enjoying mysteries and thrillers. It helps that the ones I’ve read lately have been really good. A few years ago I read the first book in the Charlotte Holmes series, A Study in Charlotte. To finally be able to continue the series I decided to do a reread of the first book. After reading Be Not Far From Me earlier this year, I was really curious about Mindy McGinnis’ other books. Heroine was one I’ve seen around for awhile and saw that it was available on Storytel. I can tell you that this author really knows how to suck you into a story!
I do want to start off by saying that this book has major trigger warnings. Before you read this book, you should know that drug use/abuse, overdosing, addiction and even goes into detail how these drugs are used. Be warned when you pick it up!
Sawkill Girls has been on my radar since I hear about it releasing. The cover is very intriguing and the story sounded like something I’d love. I received this book last year and finally sat down to read it. Horror isn’t my go to genre, but it’s one I’m curious about. Keep on reading for my review!
Mindy McGinnis is an author I’ve heard a lot of positive things about, but I just haven’t had the chance to pick up one of her books. That was until her newest release, Be Not Far From Me, was put on Storytel. After hearing so many amazing things about this author, I decided to listen to this audiobook.
