I can’t believe it’s time to start thinking about 2026! We only have a few days left of the year, so I’m here to talk about my first TBR of the year. January is normally a pretty quiet month. I have a feeling I’ll be able to get quite a bit of reading done. So let’s take a look at some book on my January TBR.
Group Reads

Soul Searching – Lyla Sage
My swoonalong group will be starting out with Soul Searching. I figured a cold month called for a paranormal romance. Lyla Sage wrote the Rebel Blue Ranch series and I devoured those cowboy romances. So I’m curious to see what she does with something new. Soul Searching has had some mixed reviews, but I’ll be making my own opinion when I read it!

Daughter of No Worlds – Carissa Broadbent
We’re back with our series slayers group in 2026 and we’ll be tackling The War of Lost Hearts series. It’s one I keep seeing everywhere and have been wanting to read! It’s described as a tale of dark magic, passionate romance, vengeance, and redemption. Sounds like everything I love in a fantasy series.
eARCs
I actually have quite a few January 2026 eARCs on my Kindle and here are a few of the books I’m most excited about!

My Husband’s Wife – Alice Feeney
A thriller is a great thing to read during the dark days in the beginning to the new year. Alice Feeney is a thriller author I enjoy. I don’t know much about this one and I plan on going in blind. All I know is that it’ll probably be a wild ride.

Playing with Forever – Rebecca Jenshak
Rebecca Jenshak has written adult sport romances that I have absolutely loved. I’m really curious about what she does with a YA sports romance. An enemies to lovers romance is always fun and it’s always interesting to see how they end up developing feelings for each other.

Most Eligible – Isabelle Engel
An investigative journalist sneaks onto a reality TV show and falls for the wrong guy? Sign me up! Most Eligible is going to be very dramatic, but that’s fun now and then!
Physical TBR/Backlist Books
I’ll be keeping up the tradition of picking three random books to read every month that are on my shelves.

Accomplice to the Villain – Hannah Nicole Maeher
This series is just a fantasy book that’s such a good time. There’s humor, tension, some action and you just can’t put them down. I’m actually surprised I haven’t read this third instalment yet! Hopefully we get lots of Kingsley!

This Could Be Us – Kennedy Ryan
Before I Let Go was an emotional roller coaster, but it was so good. This Could Be Us in the second interconnected standalone in this series. Soledad is always the one who fixes everything but I have a feeling things are about to change.

A Novel Love Story – Ashley Poston
I love a good combination of contemporary romance with a touch of magical realism. Ashley Poston is an author who does that well and A Novel Love Story is one of her two adult romances I haven’t read yet. Our main character actually ends up in her favorite fictional town. I think a lot of us readers would love that!
So here are some of the books on my January TBR. I’m hoping to stick to these more this year, but I have come to love mood reading. Have you read any of these? Or are any on your radar? Let me know in the comments. I’d love to hear from you!
