Candyce shared her (many) reading goals for 2026 and since we are in the absolute last stretch of 2025, I figured it was time for me to share my reading goals as well! My reading has really changed since we first started blogging, so I have to put in some more thoughts before writing a post like this. Let’s take a look at the goals I came up with!
Goodreads Challenge
52 books
Last year I set this goal at 52 books as I did the 2 years before that. The three years before that I failed to reach my 100 book goal and I failed it by more books every year haha. I like the 52 books goal, it’s a book a week and that feels really attainable to me. It’s still a bit challenging, but a challenge I know I will be able to meet.
Big Books
6 new big books
With all the rereads I’m doing I would love to read 6 ‘new’ big books. I have been loving this goal for the past couple of years, but I have been meeting the goal thanks to all the rereads I’m doing. 500+ pages is still a lot of pages and I don’t read that many new books with that many pages. Looking back on the big books I read this year, there were at least 5 that were around 490 pages haha. Long story short, I would love to make this a priority.
KU Books
at least 12 books
I still have a Kindle Unlimited subscription, but I haven’t been reading that many books. And doing the math, I could probably just buy the ebooks and still be off cheaper. So this year I would like to read at least 12 KU books. And if I don’t, I think it’s time to cancel my subscription. It just doesn’t make sense anymore with the small amount of books I’m reading.
Netgalley Ratio
simply higher than January 1st
This is a reoccurring goal every year and it’s never going well haha. I keep lowering this goal and not meeting it haha. This year I simply want to end the year with a higher percentage than I started to year with. And even that might be a big challenge. I have a ton of exciting eARC’s, so I hope to read some more of them this year!
Finish Series
6 series
Another goal I have been struggling with every single year, but also one I would love to obtain. I have been diving into some older series this year, but I haven’t finished that many. Hopefully this year I will be able to finish some more of them, maybe with some audiobook help.
Fable
set up an account
I would love to change my reading tracker to Fable (or something similar), but I have been hesitant since I have a lot of data over on Goodreads. Knowing that Goodreads is owned by Amazon just doesn’t feel great to be honest. I already use a lot (too many) of their products with Audible and KU and it would be nice to get rid of at least one. So one of my goals is to start using a new tracking system.
The reading goals look a lot like last year’s goals, but there is a new addition or 2. I’m excited to see what next year will look like reading wise! Do you think I’ll be able to reach these goals? And have you set some goals for yourself? Let me know down below!
