We have been having fun with Top Ten Tuesday, so we decided we will do one every week. This bookish meme was hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, and has been going since June 2010! Since January 2018 Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.
This week’s topic is Books I Hope Santa Brings This Year. Somehow I haven’t put any books on my Christmas wishlist. Probably because I already own so many unread ones haha. However, I do have a couple of books I would love for Santa to bring me. These books aren’t released yet, some don’t have a release date or even year so it would be a Christmas miracle haha. Let’s jump in!
1. Six of Crows #3 – Leigh Bardugo
I adore the Grishaverse and specifically the Six of Crows duology. Ever since finishing Crooked Kingdom I thought there was potential for a third book. Apparently Leigh Bardugo thinks so too as she announced a sequel in the future. I added this one almost 4 years ago so I just hope there will be some announcement soonish…..
2. Crescent City #3 – Sarah J. Maas
After the ending of Crescent City #2 I have been craving this one. I haven’t heard much about the release date but Goodreads seems to think it will be 2023. Personally, I think we will have to wait until at least 2024, but I can hope until then haha. I also want to reread all of Sarah’s books (thank Tiktok) and I might do so in the coming year.
3. Threads of Power #1 – V.E. Schwab
As soon as I read A Conjuring of Light, I hoped there would be a spin-off series. So I was super happy to see Threads of Power announced. Since then I have had to be incredibly patient haha. But, it looks like we might get this one in 2023….
4. The Wicked Powers – Cassandra Clare
I’m not a huge fan of Cassandra Clare but I do enjoy the Shadowhunters world. And ever since I read the Dark Artifices trilogy I have been looking forward to The Wicked Powers. Kit and Ty are some of my favorite characters and I have very high hopes. The whole world is also about to be torn apart and I can’t wait to see how it all ends.
5. Villains #3 – V.E. Schwab
I had to add another V.E. Schwab book! The Villains series has been amazing and I can’t wait for this one. It already has a title; Victorious. A pretty awesome title in my opinion! I also just love everything V.E. comes up with and I could’ve added at least 3 more books to this list haha.
6. The New Friends – Kara Thomas
I enjoyed Kara’s books and I can’t wait for this one. This is another YA mystery and it looks like it will be released in the spring of 2023. However, there isn’t a description yet so it might be delayed? Even though I don’t know what it’s about, I’m sure I will be interested!
7. The Brothers Hawthorne – Jennifer Lynn Barnes
I love Jennifer Lynn Barnes, I love The Inheritance Games and I love the Hawthorne brothers. So obviously I cannot wait for this one to release. Jennifer just released a sneak peek on her insta and I will read it as soon as I’ve finished this post. And then I will read it over and over again until the end of August.
8. Never a Hero – Vanessa Len
The first book in this trilogy was a surprising favorite this year and I can’t wait for the sequel. Since I read an eARC, it’s taking forever until I can read this one haha. It will supposedly release June 2023, so at least we have a date.
9. Careful What You Wish For – Sophie Gonzales
A sapphic fanfic writer accidentally brings her favorite tv character to life. Amazing. I need it right now. Also, I love everything Sophie Gonzales writes and I have very, very high hopes for this one. In the mean time I will go back and read her previous novels I guess haha.
10. The Break-Up Tour – Emily Wibberley & Austin Siegemund-Broka
This is a Taylor Swift inspired book. I’m not a big romance reader, but this sounds awesome. The singer wrote an album about her exes and now has to go on tour with one of them. Sign me up! It looks like this will be released in 2024….
