We have been having fun with Top Ten Tuesday, so we decided we will do one every week. This bookish meme was hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, and has been going since June 2010! Since January 2018 Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.
This week’s topic is New-to-Me Authors I Discovered In 2022. Isabelle did this topic last week and now it’s my turn. I got into dark romance last year, so I have a feeling a lot of the authors on this list will have books in that genre. Let’s take a look!
Tate James
Tate James was my introduction to dark romance/why choose romance last year and opened up my world to many new authors. And an amazing online book club. The Madison Kate series was filled with twists and turns and Hades definitely continued with that trend. I have one more book to go in that series before I can continue with her backlist.
J. Bree
The Bonds That Tie series was something I saw everywhere and I just had to give it a try. I flew through the first three books. As a reader who is terrible at finishing series I really need to sit down and finish this one. Blood Bonds ended in a way I really wasn’t expecting and I need to know what happens to the characters I’ve come to love.
Sophie Lark
Sophie Lark was one of the last new-to-me authors in 2022 and one I was really curious about. Her books are very loved and reading Brtual Prince and Stolen Heir proved to me why. These dark mafia romances are amazing and I got so attached to the characters.
Caroline Peckham & Susanne Valenti
Zodiac Academy is a series that took the book community by storm and one I was seeing everywhere. I’m currently reading the fifth book and it’s intense. These authors hit you in all the feels. This author duo has written a lot and the books are big, so it’s going to take me awhile to get through their backlist.
Lucy Score
Maggie Moves On wasn’t the first book I heard about written by Lucy Score. I bought Riley Thorn and the Dead Guy Next Door awhile ago, but as usual I haven’t gotten around to it. Maggie Moves On was a great introduction though and has me excited to read the many books written by this author.
Monica Murphy
Monica Murphy is an author I’ve wondered was for me, but that question was answered when I read A Million Kisses in Your Lifetime. This book is over 500 pages long and it didn’t feel that way at all!
Chloe Liese
The Bergman Brothers series was a favorite series of mine last year. I’m so excited about the next book releasing this year. They’re definitely a family I would love to be a part of. And Chloe also released Two Wrongs Make a Right later in 2022 and it was another 5 star read for me. Chloe Liese is definitely an auto-buy author for me now.
Stacy Willingham
Thrillers are something I’ve come to enjoy and really want to read more of. A Flicker in the Dark was an amazing one I read last year. Even though the ending was spoiled for me this was still an amazing read. I recently read All the Dangerous things (the most recent book by Stacy Willingham) and it was another amazing read.
Amy Lea
I’m a big fan of books where the main character is an influencer or really passionate about something. In this case she’s a fitness influencer and this romance was so much fun. The next book, Exes and O’s, just released and I got to read an e-arc. Amy Lea definitely has a way with words!
Meagan Brandy
When Say You Swear first came out, a lot of readers were saying how much this book was making them cry. As I was reading I wasn’t really sure why, because nothing was hitting me that hard. Until it did and I completely understood what people were talking about. I loved this book! I tried another book by Meagan Brandy after Say You Swear, but that one wasn’t for me. I do want to give another series a try though.
