TTT #266| Books on My Winter 2022-2023 To-Read List Part 1

We have been having fun with Top Ten Tuesday, so we decided we will do one every week. This bookish meme was hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, and has been going since June 2010! Since January 2018 Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.

This week’s topic is a freebie. I like next week’s topic, so I decided to do that one now. So today I’m going to talk about ten books on my winter 2022-2023 To-Read List. Of course, I have way more than 10, but here are a few I want to get to ASAP! Let’s take a look!

The Lightning-Struck Heart – TJ Klune

I was really hoping to get to this book in 2022, but I don’t think I will. TJ Klune is an author that has written a few books that I’ve absolutely loved. The Lightning-Struck Heart is the start of the Tales from Verania series. Some of my friends have read this and said it’s hilarious and something you just can’t put down.

Gild – Raven Kennedy

Gild has been on a previous TBR, but I still haven’t gotten around to reading this series. I’ve heard the first book is one you kind of have to get through, but they keep getting better and better. I believe the fifth book releases next summer, so I’ll have plenty of time to read the first four books already out.

Astrid Parker Doesn’t Fail – Ashley Herring Blake

Delilah Green Doesn’t Care was one of my favorite reads of 2022 and I’ve been so excited about the sequel. Astrid is a character that’s always done a lot of things to please other people, so I’m excited to see her get her own story. She deserves a happily ever after.

My Imaginary Mary – Cynthia Hand, Brodi Ashton & Jodi Meadows

I was planning on reading My Imaginary Mary as soon as it released, but apparently that didn’t work out. I love how these authors give history their own twist and add a little magic. These books often have me laughing out loud and I honestly can’t even tell that three authors wrote this. Their writing styles flow so well.

Magnolia Parks – Jessa Hastings

Magnolia Parks is a book I’ve seen everywhere on bookstagram and booktube. It seemed like it came out of nowhere. From what I’ve heard it’s really angsty and very character driven and I’m intrigured. I believe the fourth book in the series releases this month, so I’ll have some books to catch up with.

Things We Never Got Over – Lucy Score

Another book that has been everywhere this year. I really want to read this grumpy/sunshine romance. So many people have loved this one that I’m kind of scared of the hype, but it sounds so good. The sequel releases in February (I think), so January would be a great time to finally read Things We Never Got Over.

Never Ever Getting Back Together – Sophie Gonzales

Okay, so I never get why someone would go on a dating show to compete for an ex-boyfriend’s attention. I mean it ended up for a reason right?!? Never Ever Getting Back Together has a character coming there for revenge and one open for romance. Sounds like a book I’ll enjoy and look at the cute cover!

The Confidence of Wildflowers – Micalea Smeltzer

I feel like a broken record, but this is another book I was supposed to already have read. The Confidence of Wildflowers is another book with a lot of hype. Age gap romance isn’t something I’ve really read, so I guess it’s time to find out if they’re for me.

Nine Liars – Maureen Johnson

The Truly Devious series has been one I’ve loved and Nine Liars is a book I wasn’t expecting to see releasing. I’m not complaining though. If I can I’m going to try and sneak it in my reading in December, but if not I will be reading this in January.

Dead Voices – Katherine Arden

Small Spaces is one of my favorite middle grade reads and I still haven’t read the rest of the series. Dead Voices takes place during a winter break, so winter seems to be the perfect time to read this one.

  1. Oh yes! Nine Liars! Also so very excited about her newest book, cannot wait to see what kind of mystery we get this time! Enjoy your books~

  2. Ooh, great list. I want to read a few of these next year as well. I’m curious about The Coincidence of Wildflowers but I’m still unsure if I’m going to read it or not. I haven’t seen much about it tbh. But that cover is beautiful! 😍 I hope you enjoy all of these reads.
