TTT #226 | Books I Enjoyed, but Have Never Mentioned On My Blog

We have been having fun with Top Ten Tuesday, so we decided we will do one every week. This bookish meme was hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, and has been going since June 2010! Since January 2018 Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.

This week’s topic is Books I Enjoyed, but Have Never Mentioned On My Blog. It was a lot of fun looking through my read lists and comparing them to the blog. Let’s jump in!

1.A Torch Against the Night – Sabaa Tahir

It’s been a while since I read this one (and the first book in the series) and I don’t think I really mentioned the series on here except for maybe once when talking about green covers haha. While I’ve owned the third book for years I never read it, even though I loved the first two. Hopefully soon though!

2. Renegades – Marissa Meyer

I think I used this one for a similar TTT post years ago haha. This was such a good read, especially the ending! I need to read the other books in the series soon before I completely forget everything about the first book haha.

3. Black Iris – Leah Raeder/Elliot Wake

While reading up on this one I released the author has since transitioned and now goes by Elliot Wake. I did still put the other name as I don’t think the book has been republished under the authors new name but if I’m wrong please correct me! It’s been years since I read this book but I remember loving it! A very dark read though.

4. Steelheart (The Reckoners) – Brandon Sanderson

This series was fun!! I think it was my first Brandon Sanderson read and I really liked it. If I mentioned the series it’s probably only once but I think in general this is one of his least mentioned series. It’s a YA series and so good!!

5. The Rosie Project – Graeme Simsion

Yes this series has some issues but when I first read it, I really enjoyed it. Such a fun story! It’s definitely not the best book on this list but I think it was accessible to a lot of people who otherwise wouldn’t pick up a book so that’s great.

6. The School for Good and Evil – Soman Chainani

This series is so much fun! And there will be a Netflix movie this year, I for one can’t wait for that one. I still need to read the later books, I own the first one from that second trilogy. The original trilogy was amazing and I loved how everything was flipped.

7. The Circle (Engelsfors) – Mats Strandberg & Sara B. Elfgren

This series… So good!! And quite dark. I don’t think I ever mentioned these books on here though. This series is Swedish and I really enjoyed the setting, definitely something different. It’s a good reminder to read more diverse books!

8. Reconstructing Amelia – Kimberley McCreight

This cover is horrible haha, but the story was very good. Another dark one though! One of the first books like this I read so I’m not sure if it’s actually the best. But for me it was a very good read and I definitely went looking for more books like it.

9. One Day – David Nicholls

This was a tearjerker for sure! I don’t usually pick up books like this anymore but this one I’ll always remember. The concept was really cool and the execution was well done. It has also been made into a movie I enjoyed.

10. God’s Gym – Leon de Winter

This is a Dutch novel, but it’s also translated in English. I would highly recommend it to everyone and I should probably talk about it more often. This was an incredible read about grief and I really liked how everything came together.
