TTT #175| Bookish Spring Cleaning

We have been having fun with Top Ten Tuesday, so we decided we will do one every week. This bookish meme was hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, and has been going since June 2010! Since January 2018 Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.

This week’s topic is bookish Spring cleaning. Spring is in the air (at least it was here two weeks ago, haha). The topic this week is a freebie and these are ten arcs I’m determined to read this Spring. These are at least a few books I hope to clean off my TBR, because my Netgalley ratio really needs some help.

Just for Clicks – Kara McDowell

This one released in February 2019 and I really need to read it. I know Isabelle really enjoyed Just for Clicks. A couple of months ago I read this author’s most recent book, One Way or Another, and really enjoyed it. Just for Clicks sounds like another book I’ll really love.

Starworld – Audrey Coulthurst & Paula Garner

Another 2019 release and look at this stunning cover! Both of our main characters are clearly dealing with different things, but their lives aren’t going smooth. When they exchange numbers after an unexpected encounter, they connect through text messages. I’m someone who loves when these elements are in stories and think this story is right up my alley.

American Royals – Katharine McGee

Wow I have a lot of 2019 releases on Netgalley, haha. American Royals is also a book I physically own and I even have the sequel. The Spring seems like the perfect time to sit down and give these a go. They do seem like something I’ll really enjoy.

The Bookworm Crush – Lisa Brown Roberts

I’ve put this book on my TBR a few times, but never seem to get around to it. There isn’t really a reason, because I really want to read The Bookworm Crush. Hopefully by putting it on here it’ll give me that extra push.

Regretting You – Colleen Hoover

It’s been way too long since I’ve read a Colleen Hoover book. She’s definitely an author I’ve really enjoyed in the past, but haven’t read her latest releases. I don’t remember much about what Regretting You is about, but I’ve heard a lot of positive things.

Ionic Attraction – D.R. Rosensteel

Okay, this is the first book in my list of open Netgalley books that I don’t remember. Oops! I love the cover though. Ionic Attraction has a high-tech academy for teens. That could be interesting. This book was published by Entangled, but only has 19 reviews on Goodreads so far. I’m still curious though.

Last Girls – Demetra Brodsky

When this author announced Last Girls I was really excited, because I really enjoyed her first book Dive Smack. I’m happy I stumbled upon this one again. Last Girls has a group of sisters that live on a secret compound that seem to be prepared for anything. I have a feeling this one is going to be filled with twists and turns.

They Wish They Were Us – Jessica Goodman

For some reason this cover really appeals to me. A thriller that takes place at an exclusive boarding school? Yes, please! This is one of my favorite settings and I’ve really been enjoying thrillers lately.

The Haunting of Aveline Jones – Phil Hickes

At the moment I’m participating in a group read of Nightbooks. I have to say this is definitely a spooky story and when someone was looking for more spooky stories someone recommended this one. The Hauning to Aveline Jones sounds really good and once again I really love the cover! I have to say this looks more like an Autumn read, but I’m intrigued.

These Violent Delights – Chloe Gong

Thes Violent Delights is one of my more recent arcs on Netgalley, but still sounds really good. This book has gotten a lot of attention and I’ve heard so many amazing things about it. I’m normally a little bit worried about such hyped releases, because it definitely influences my expectations. I have a feeling this one is worth all of the hype it’s receiving though.

  1. These Violent Delights is also on my shelves. I totally get what you mean about being worried about hyped books. I haven’t read a lot of them because I go in with certain expectations. Sometimes I try to read both positive and negative reviews beforehand to balance it out lol

  2. I didn’t manage to finish These Violent Delights before my Netgalley e-arc expired, but I do want to go back to it at some point as I hadn’t got very far through.
